A Second "(list of episodes)"
editHow do I make a second "(list of episodes)" on an article infobox? Like, they have one for the first incarnation of the series now I need to link to a second page of episodes but it won't let me. How do I do this? Thanks!

- @Ijoshiexo: I can guess from your contributions that it is about Degrassi: The Next Generation which is for both List of Degrassi: The Next Generation episodes and List of Degrassi: Next Class episodes. The
list_episodes
parameter of {{Infobox television}} does not support two lists. A workaround would be to not use the parameter at all and instead stuff two lists into another parameter like I did here withnum_episodes

Request for donations from Wikipedia
editHi there logging on today, there is a banner ad, asking for donations via credit cards or Pay Pal. To me, it doesn't look genuine and I'm surprised not to have heard about the request via social media.

- Donation banners on Wikipedia are common and there is one like you quote but if you consider donating and worry about a scam then the most important thing is not what it says (scammers could copy that) but where the link leads. https://donate.wikimedia.org, https://wikimediafoundation.org and https://payments.wikimedia.org are legitimate sites controlled by the Wikimedia foundation and not editable by the public. Resolving Links Between English and Spanish Pages
editThere is a section of Wikipedia that provides lists of people shown on postage stamps. I have been updating these lists based on the 2015 Scott Postage Stamp Catalogue. I have been focusing on the stamps of South and Central America.
I have been editing the English version of the lists to bring them up to date. For many of the noted people in the lists there are biographical entries in the Spanish language pages of Wikipedia (Portuguese for Brazil) but not in English. Thus many of the entries in the lists show up as red links.
I would like to know if there is a way to create the link to point to the correct article in the Spanish / Portuguese set of pages. For example, I have just updated the lists for Cuba (List of people on the postage stamps of Cuba). If you look at the page there are many red links which could be resolved by pointing at an es.wikipedia.org/wiki/... article.

- If you are related to the subject of an article, we say you have a "conflict of interest". As Wikipedia strives to remain neutral, this means we usually don't like people with conflicts of interest editing pages too much. However, we don't want to turn away any positive contributions they could make either. If the error is obvious vandalism (e.g. "he was born in 1324 B.C."), then you can remove it yourself; you can also correct minor things like typos. If the error seems like it was made in good faith and/or has a source to support the claim, it's usually better to post a message on the article's talk page. If you can, please cite reliable sources for any factual changes. Some people like to put the code

- You can make obvious fixes just like any other Wikipedia user, just use the edit link on the article's page. However if your changes are not obvious or might be questionable, the best way is to list them in the article's talk page (for article Bryce Walton that would be Talk:Bryce Walton), preferably with references to commonly available, neutral (as much as possible) and reliable sources. Then some uninvolved editors may verify their neutrality and add them to the article. --CiaPan (talk) 13:32, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
Custom thumb of an image

However, I'm not happy with the responsiveness of the picure. In the thumb the screenshot is scaled down, which makes it hard to read. Instead I would like to crop parts of the image and only show the relevant part (in this case the 3 buttons default, inline, and display). However, I could not find a crop attribute or something similar for the File:... syntax. --Physikerwelt (talk) 13:26, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Uploading modified image File to a page in WP namespace
editI'm working as a member of the GLAM Café Meetup group, and specifically the Wikipedia:Meetup/Philadelphia/2015 GLAM Cafe § Women in Science project to add or improve Wikipedia articles on such women. That section includes a table of articles being worked on or written, and the table has a column for images (headshots) of the subjects. The only image we have of this person, File:Mary Ann Booth, microscopist (Illustrated World, 1915).jpg, shows Booth at her desk, with a text box superimposed in the corner. It is far too large for the table, and if reduced to fit it barely shows her face.
I downloaded it to my own computer, cropped it to just her face, and have been trying to upload the headshot to use in that table. As I was filling out the form, the Wizard warned emphatically that it was only for uploads to articles, not to talk pages, etc. Wikipedia:Meetup/Philadelphia/2015 GLAM Cafe is not an article. - Sorry but you can only use images that are uploaded pursuant to the non-free content criteria on articles pages and then only under the strict terms of the NFCC. You cannot use them anywhere else on Wikipedia, including user, talk and project pages.--ukexpat (talk) 17:15, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

I incorrectly titled an article I created

How to ask a new question
editHi, I actually have two related questions: 1. I wanted to find the page that shows a real-time graphic of everyone currently logged in and editing So, can someone tell me how to find it?
2. I thought using a "talk" page might be a good way to ask the question above and I found lots of info on this subject here...in fact, everything but how to do it! So, can someone tell me, or direct me to a page that tells me specifically how to enter a question or comment such as #1 above?

- @Jveeds: It is not possible to see who is logged in. At Recent changes in the left pane you can see recent edits but that's a lot for a large wiki like the English Wikipedia. Talk page archiving stopped??
editLowercase sigmabot III hasn't archived my talk page in over a month even though I have the algo parameter set to old(30d). Is there something wrong with the bot, or have I done something to mess the archiving up? ~ Anastasia [Missionedit] (talk) 21:14, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- In this edit the %(counter)d was changed to %(counter)

language conversion?

- @Dmonroe1103: Wikipedia languages are edited independently and often have different articles. I guess it's about hu:Szabó Vladimir. There are no links under languages in the left pane and a search of the English Wikipedia gives no result. You can try an external translation service like Google Translate at https://translate.google.com/. Select Hungarian to English, enter the url of the article in the left box and click it in the right box. Note that machine translations are often poor. PrimeHunter (talk) 00:00, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
