editapproval of article
editI have been trying for several weeks to contribute an article. it has been revised many times and it meets all wiki requirement yet it is still not 'approved' or available to wiki users.
how do it get my contribution 'approved'?

- To have your draft reviewed again you need to click the "Resubmit" button. Your problem was that you deleted that button in this edit. The previous feedback and review comments stays there to help you and subsequent reviewers, and will be removed if/when a subsequent reviewer decides that the draft is fit for publication as an article. I have reinserted the feedback and comments, so you have now got the "Resubmit" button back for when you need it. --David Biddulph (talk) 05:53, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- The article is Draft: Kim C Sturgess. (Your link goes to an old version.) I have a few comments. First, the draft is, at present, a stub, and some reviewers don't accept stubs. Can you try to expand it with more information about the scholar? Second, one of your references is to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a reference. It should normally be a wikilink to an article. More generally, please use links to articles when appropriate. Third, I have tagged the draft as needing copy-edit for grammar. (I infer that English is not your first language. - Firstly, for someone to have a Wikipedia article he or she should at least meet WP:GNG criteria. Secondly, writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is strongly discouraged as it will most likely cause a conflict of interest. - @Ajay thakar: Also, and I mean no offense by this, it would probably be better if someone who is better with the English language create the page. Your question demonstrates that you are not fluent in English, especially when it comes to grammar and capitalization. I know enough German to be able to get around in Germany and not have to rely on English speakers there but I wouldn't create an article on the German Wikipedia until I was much more comfortable with the language. - To force a linebreak within linked text, you can do this: [[United States|United<br />States]], which produces United

How get rid of all colour white?
editHello,
Reading the Wiki-pages is not pleasant because of all the horrid white.
For the sight impaired and elderly it's really good, but for healthy eyes it's terrible and hurts. Soft or dark colours are best, the computer screen is physically a lamp, not possible to enjoy staring into a lamp.
Is there a way to rid Wiki of all the white and light colours, so healthy eyes can read it?

- I think most people like white backgrounds. You can define your own CSS in Special:MyPage/common.css. I don't know much CSS but you could try something like this:
body, .mw-body-content { background-color: lightyellow; }

- (edit conflict) If you are using Chrome, you could use this to simply change the background color, or else, you could use alternatives like userstyles.org. Text left margin issue in between images to the left and right
editIn squatting position#Resting position I have images both to the left and right of text but the text left margin goes wrong a few lines down at the first bullet point line "sitting on chairs or seats" onwards. Can anybody help ? Thanks.--Penbat (talk) 16:15, 14 May 2016 (UTC)

- I would say you shouldn't put images on both sides like that. One or two images is likely enough to display what you want. I don't see the reason for the third. Additionally, you have to consider that not all readers will have the same screen resolution, so the bullet points, or something else, may be even more messed up for them. - @Kanon Ahmed: I agree with reading that page, but please be aware that it was largely written before the visual editor existed, so goes into a lot of detail you may not need. In visual editor, click on Cite, paste the URL, click generate then save page, and in most cases a properly formed reference will exist. - The best way to get a picture replaced is to provide a better one. It will need to be unrestricted by copyright, which you can achieve if the person who takes the picture also uploads it (preferably to Wikimedia Commons) while renouncing their copyright in it. Wikipedia uses mugshots because they are available without copyright restrictions. Maproom (talk) 20:46, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- Mugshots should be avoided whenever possible, per WP:MUG. They create an instant negative impression of a person without providing enough context. This is a BLP issues, so providing a replacement would be nice, but isn't necessary. Grayfell (talk) 20:51, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- I agree. WP:UNDUE would be relevant here unless the mugshot was relevant to their notability. I strongly suspect that once we know the name of the article we will find it probably does not belong there. HighInBC 20:55, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
The article in question is 2 Pistols. - I'll say keep the picture there till something better shows up. This is the guy who raps, "All black van creepin down your street slowly doors open up and we leave your home holey If your not in then we know where your ho be barrel to her head while I'm makin her blow me" - Sounds like a mug shot is about right.
