editDOI's not connecting?
editNone of the doi's attached to citations seem to work this past hour.--Smokefoot (talk) 01:10, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

Tables
editHello,
In Template:Officeholder table is it possible for someone (I don't understand the code) to add "Portrait" above the portrait images? See List of NATO Secretaries General to understand what I mean. Thanks,
WhatsUpWorld (talk) 06:46, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
The lack of a title is caused by the template {{Officeholder table start}} not having a heading for that column. Changing it would impact 170 articles, so it's something that needs to be discussed on the template talk page (which has had zero discussions on it), I'll ping @Regge robban2: who created the template so that they see this discussion. Perhaps you could persuade them to add a free text heading parameter for the image column. - X201 (talk) 07:33, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- Regge robban2 hasn't edited in two months. @WhatsUpWorld: I have added an optional
image_title
parameter to {{Officeholder table start}}. PrimeHunter (talk) 11:03, 4 July 2018 (UTC)- Thanks! WhatsUpWorld (talk) 15:35, 4 July 2018 (UTC)
Italian Wikipedia not accessible
editSeveral WPs are letting people know about a new copyright law that is about to be voted on in the European Parliament, which is fine, but it is only the Italian WP that refuses to let you past (or more exactly always brings you back to) that page, which makes the whole of the Italian WP inaccessible. They'll get lots of people pissed. Just letting you know. If this is just the result of some lone moron's error and wasn't the intention, maybe you can let them know (provided you can get through to them somehow). Basemetal 11:32, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- As far as I can see, it's not an accident. The text is signed La comunità italiana di Wikipedia (Italian community of Wikipedia) and in the footnote it refers to a disussion at their Village Pump:
- which apparently led to such action. --CiaPan (talk) 11:53, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- I skimmed over the discussion CiaPan linked (I read Italian slowly, and it is a bit long), and it does seem to include a lot of words about
oscuramento
(i.e. blacking out) rather than a simple banner, including technical details about mobile/desktop views etc. So the blacking-out seems intentional. Now, making every page redirect to the protest page without an escape probably is not; that may or may not be a weird interaction between your browser and the server settings. - @Basemetal, Tigraan, and Irondome: I found out more Wikipedias blacked-out. See links at Wikidata d:Q55359792 for corresponding message pages. Not all of them implemented the black-out method, so one would have to try switching e.g. to a main page of each Wikipedia to verify which of them actually are blacked-out, and which just have a message. --CiaPan (talk) 09:56, 4 July 2018 (UTC)
Dynamic map: Line with valid Wikidata-ID does not show up
editI was trying to show the track of the Isle of Man TT motorbike race on a dynamic map. The Wikidata ID is available on OpenStreetMap (https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/188240). But if I set up a dynamic map the track is not showing up. Here is my sandbox, where I tried it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Renek78/sandbox Any idea? In the past I didn't have any issues with showing Wikidata elements on dynamic maps. Example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sungai_Buloh%E2%80%93Kajang_MRT_line
Thanks for your support. --Renek78 (talk) 16:15, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- I guess the answer to my question can be found here. Type=circuit is not supported. --Renek78 (talk) 21:28, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

KAMRAN
editI am sorry I could not find where I put my question. I was a very close friend of KAMRAN DIBA and REZA GHOTBI when we were students in ALBORZ college. In fact I owed to KAMRAN. I will be extremely thankful, if you could let know of their email addresses? Even if This were an appropriat question for this help desk (it's not) and even if we knew them and knew their contact information (We don't), we could not provide it to you as this would violate our privacy policies. -Arch dude (talk) 21:02, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- You could go to those article's talk pages, comment about ways to improve the Wikipedia articles, and in addition state your real name and your desire to be in touch, in case they happen to read the talk page, you never know. Don't post your real life contact information because your comment might get deleted. Thinker78 (talk) 18:59, 4 July 2018 (UTC)
Christopher Scott (choreographer) was deleted
editGreetings,
I am wondering why the article Christopher Scott (choreographer) was deleted. It complied with all guidelines and a link for Christopher Scott appears in several other articles but now the link is red. Why? Is there any way to put it back? Christopher Scott is an Emmy nominated choreographer. His work in the field of dance is notable. How can the article be re-published? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2606:6000:6783:4C00:D0DA:87FD:416E:FA52 (talk) 20:18, 3 July 2018 (UTC) 2606:6000:6783:4C00:D0DA:87FD:416E:FA52 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:20, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
