Hi
editHi All Wikipedia create a School's Facebook page automatically but the school have a own Facebook page I want to wikipedia connect the real Facebook page with the school's Wikipedia page and also the location of the school's distance is only 1km but in wikipedia it shows 2km.I want to please connect the real Facebook page with the school Wikipedia page.please reply ,so I will give you the Facebook page links.Thanks. Hope this is understandable . Kritish Mohapatra (talk) 11:30, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, Kritish Mohapatra. Wikipedia has nothing whatever to do with Facebook. Facebook, like anybody else, is allowed to reuse material from Wikipedia as long as it complies with the licence conditions. Wikipedia has no control over how Facebook uses its information. If you want somethign changed in Facebook, you will need to take that up with Facebooik.
- Wikipedia articles do not normally link to social media sites: since Secondary Board High School has a link to the school's blog, there is no reason to link to any other social media accounts. I see no mention of "2km" in the article.
- Please note that if you are connected with the school (as you appear to be) you should not be editing the article, but only making edit requests: see conflict of interest. Please note also that unless some independent reliably published sources about the school are added to the article, it is quite likely to get deleted for being not notable. --ColinFine (talk) 15:08, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

- Shashini Puvi, Userpages never appear on google. Wikipedia is not for self promotion, and you shouldn't write about yourself. —moonythedwarf (Braden N.) 13:26, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
when i create page of myself you said it cannot be used for self promotion then the below memtioned is also self promotion URL please justify: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rameshbabu_Praggnanandhaa — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shashini Puvi (talk • contribs) 13:54, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- May I know what you specifically classify as (self-)promotion on that article. Victor Schmidt (talk) 14:29, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- Shashini Puvi, I don't see any self promotion there. Among other things, they didn't even write it. You wrote your own page, which is what self promotion is. —moonythedwarf (Braden N.) 14:37, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Shashini Puvi: your user page is a place to tell other editors about yourself as a wikipedia editor. See WP:USERPAGE. It is not a place to tell the general readership about your accomplishments in the outside world, except as they relate to you ability and interest in editing Wikipedia to make it a better encyclopedia. If you are notable as we define the term (WP:N), someone (not you) may choose to write an encyclopedia article about you. That will not be your user page. -Arch dude (talk) 18:32, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
How to add userboxes on talk page
editDear Help Desk, I am currently confused on how to add a user box to my talk page and don't understand, please explain this to me in the simplest way possible. --Takumi (talk) 13:55, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Staines Staines: In general, you include a userbox by typing its name in curly brackets. For example, if I were to include Template:User wikipedia on my Userpage, I type . Note that I have added a demo parameter to prevent categorisation on the Help desk. Victor Schmidt (talk) 14:28, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
This user is a Wikipedian. -
- There is also information at Template:Userbox, though possibly not in the simplest terms. In general, user boxes can get very complicated, but if you have specific questions it may be easier to assist you. ‡ Єl Cid of Valencia talk 14:34, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- The easiest way in my opinion is find a page where that user box is used. See how it's edited in and just copy/paste it. --Dutchy45 (talk) 17:20, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

- The help desk deals with questions about navigating/using Wikipedia. A question like yours may have a better chance finding answers over at one of our reference desks. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 15:58, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
Changed citation formatting because it was assigned in reference desk
editI worked on Apomyelois however the verification needed template is still visible. Can someone just double check my work and give me some feedback? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jtm-lis (talk • contribs) 15:26, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Jtm-lis:, those template-generated tags don't go away automatically; simply delete after fixing. —107.15.157.44 (talk) 17:48, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- @107.15.157.44:, thank you I removed the template. Apomyelois is all good now --Jtm-lis (talk) 17:53, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
Map
editCan we change a School's Wikipedia page's location. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kritish Mohapatra (talk • contribs) 18:29, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- Do you want to rename an article? If so, which one, and why? 331dot (talk) 18:35, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, Kritish Mohapatra. You should not be editing Secondary Board High School directly at all, as you have a conflict of interest. You may make an WP:edit request on the article's talk page, giving different coordinates, preferably with a reliable published source. --ColinFine (talk) 19:14, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
