editArticle deletion.

Hello! I would like to request the following articles for deletion, please:
- Broom City, Texas
- Cedar Creek, Anderson County, Texas
- Days Chapel, Texas
- Denson Springs, Texas
- Myrtle Springs, Anderson County, Texas
- Providence, Anderson County, Texas
- Redtown, Anderson County, Texas
Thanks! Colman2000 (talk) 22:22, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
- You have been editing Wikipedia since 2017, and accordingly it would seem unlikely that you are unaware of the WP:AfD process. Though I suspect that if you propose the articles you list for deletion, you may have to explain why you are doing so, since it was you that created them. AndyTheGrump (talk) 22:32, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
- As they were populated places, it's very unlikely we would delete the articles, regardless. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 23:35, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
Money
editStop asking me for money. You're not getting a damn cent as long as your site is absolutely over run by leftist lies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:569:FF01:DF00:CDD9:79B5:EF7F:875F (talk) 06:02, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- Welcome and thank you for your question about donations! To hide the fundraising banners, you can create an account and uncheck Preferences → Banners → Fundraising. The Wikimedia Foundation does not track the identity of IP addresses, so it doesn't know your age, income level or whether you donated in the past.
None of the Wikipedia volunteer editors here who add and improve content in articles receive any financial benefit. We all simply contribute our time because we care about building a great encyclopedia for you and innumerable others around the world to use.
If you cannot afford it, no one wants you to donate. Wikipedia is not at risk of shutting down, and the Wikimedia Foundation, which hosts the Wikipedia platform and is asking for these donations, is richer than ever.
We are led to believe that users who allow cookies are less likely to see these banners on repeat visits (further information is available here), and you are welcome to communicate directly with the donor-relations team by emailingdonate@wikimedia.org
. Thank you! GoingBatty (talk) 06:18, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- So contribute to sites overrun with right-wing lies. God knows, there are plenty of those. Problem solved. Clarityfiend (talk) 06:24, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
Dark Mode/night reading mode request
editDear Wikipedia.org,
I am requesting you add the ability to change the desktop version of your website (Windows desktop) to allow an option to toggle "dark mode/night reading". I conduct much research on wikipedia and the bright white background colors hurt my eyes. I understand, certain browsers allow 3rd party extensions that can enable night reading modes, but my work organization disables the use of extensions on all browsers. Please create a "dark mode/night reading mode" option for Windows desktop users.
Thank you very much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.131.11.64 (talk) 07:19, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hi there! See Wikipedia:Dark mode for options. Happy reading! GoingBatty (talk) 07:28, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

Truth and VNT links
editThe essay at WP:VNT lists three shortcuts at the top: TRUTH, NOTTRUTH, and VNT.
A link to capitalized WP:TRUTH does indeed go to VNT. But a link to Truth as in WP:Truth goes to the page ending with Wikipedia:Truth instead of Wikipedia:Verifiability,_not_truth. I presume that's a different redirect.
In contrast, a link to mixed-case WP:Vnt goes to VNT, and WP:NotTruth also goes to VNT. WP:Nottruth does not point anywhere.
Is this a case of which redirects have been created?
Having "Truth" and "TRUTH" go to different essays is weird. 73.127.147.187 (talk) 12:04, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- Links starting with WP: are the same thing as links starting with Wikipedia:. You could easily change the WP:TRUTH link to go to the Wikipedia:Truth essay, but I'll leave that up to you or someone else. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 02:13, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- The target of WP:TRUTH was decided at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2013 March 29#Wikipedia:TRUTH. It has been stable for eight years. Don't change it without a new Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion. I have added a hatnote to the target.[1] PrimeHunter (talk) 03:57, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- I was not planning to make any changes; I was just wondering. 73.127.147.187 (talk) 09:51, 31 December 2021 (UTC)

Hello, my name is Giorgi, editor of Georgian Wikipedia. I wonder why did you put the Undisclosed Payment template on the article? The article is created on a prominent Georgian artist, the article is neutral and sources are included.--გიორგი ჩუბინიძე (talk) 12:33, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- Courtesy ping @Jerome501: OP has denied financial connection, but former account name was a gallery likely representing the artist. Please discuss on talk page TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 14:27, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

- გიორგი ჩუბინიძე, the previous main editor was an undisclosed paid editor, so the tag at the top is correct. I've blocked the undisclosed paid editor who also claims to own the copyright to Songulashvili's works and to have taken the studio portrait at the top of the article, so that's pretty clear-cut Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:16, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

How can I change the title of an entry?
editI recently updated this Wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Academy_of_Physician_Assistants to update the entry to include the new title of the organization, which is the American Academy of Physician Associates. However, it would not allow edits to the title of the page. Can you please advise? American Academy of Physician Associates (talk) 14:37, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

recovery of my page
editI had a page on wikipedia, it seems that it was deleted by a third party or by wikipedia? I do not know who did it. 37.221.36.192 (talk) 15:29, 29 December 2021 (UTC)I like to recover it, what should I do?37.221.36.192 (talk) 15:29, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hello, if you can tell us the exact title of the Wikipedia article we may be able to discover why it was deleted. If you are referring to an article (not 'page') about yourself it would be Wikipedia's article about you not 'your page'. Eagleash (talk) 16:23, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

What is guideline for putting categories on redirects?
editI am looking at this edit request: Talk:New_Super_Mario_Bros._(series)#editsemiprotected. The request is to add a category, but the page is a redirect. Before I act on or decline this request, what is the guideline for putting redirects into categories? RudolfRed (talk) 17:18, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- @RudolfRed: See WP:CATSPECIFIC; FWIW, at the F1 project, 'car' redirects to team pages are usually just placed in a basic cat only; I.e. 'Cat. Formula One cars' or 'XXXX' team F1 cars. Eagleash (talk) 19:25, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
This barn not a hexagon barn. It has 8 sides, therefore an octagonal barn. There are numerous photos taken to prove this. The of official name is the Dyas Octagonal Barn. The Iowa Barn Foundation recognizes this, the Quad City Times confirms this as they've written articles on this barn, and the locals in Bellevue (as well as the previous owners of this barm) confirm this as the Dyas Octagonal Barn. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.224.33.244 (talk) 20:01, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- Please offer this on the article talk page, Talk:Dyas Hexagonal Barn. 331dot (talk) 20:03, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- But you will need to cite reliable sources for the name "Octagonal". The two current sources which mention it, and a search in the NRHP index, all say "Dyas Hexagonal Barn". See Verifiability. --ColinFine (talk) 20:37, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- An intriguing case. I've just looked at the building in Google Earth, using the co-ordinates given above the article's infobox, and from above the roof is clearly octagonal. In the photo used in the article (widely found elsewhere), the four visible roof segments appear to correspond to four matching wall segments. Cursory web searches find innumerable references to "Dyas Hexagonal Barn" and none unequivocably to "... Octagonal . . ." (hits are found, but their associated text says "Hexagonal").
- If Reliable Sources can be found to substantiate "Octagonal", we would at the least need a redirect from "Hexagonal", but from what I've seen so far we would probably (WP:COMMONNAME) need to stay with "Hexagonal" and explain the discrepancy in the text. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.209.120.67 (talk) 02:18, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
The text in an article is different than is in the citation linked with it. Shouldn't the text, or the citation be changed then?
editThe citation includes Afghanistan as well, but this article doesn't despite using the citation. If Afghanistan were not to be included, the citation must be changed. The article in question. Borders of India Hole for you (talk) 21:04, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Hole for you: Yes, in general the text in an article should match the citation. I suggest you post your concern on the article talk page Talk:Borders of India, and identify which specific citation you're concerned about. If possible, please also suggest an improvement to the article, such as providing a new citation or new text. Thanks, and happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 23:31, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- Just a note on this - it shouldn't say exactly what it says, it should summarise it. If you see something where the info isn't in the citation, you can tag with [failed verification]. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:57, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
