Are you allowed to remove low-level warnings for vandalism on your talk page?

edit

I'm not saying it should be allowed or bannable, but because I am a bit of a noob, I might be asking a stupid question. Is it allowed though?

Update: Alright, thanks for letting me know. I'll also use the teahouse next time, since I am technically a newbie — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrDragonBoi (talkcontribs) 12:45, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@MrDragonBoi: Yes, this is allowed; see WP:OWNTALK. -- John of Reading (talk) 09:15, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In general you can remove almost anything from your talk page; the caveat is doing so can be taken as a sign that you have read it. And the Help Desk is just as suited to handling newcomers as the Teahouse. :) —Jéské Couriano v^_^v a little blue Bori 20:23, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

question

edit

In Mani article, the first line says that Mani is a bass player from the band the stone roses. Is this some kind of fun? Please remove it. 27.147.243.175 (talk) 12:00, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  Courtesy link: Mani (musician) 💜  melecie  talk - 12:13, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Which of the over 30 articles listed at Mani are you talking about? Melecle has pointed to the one article where that statement would be correct (but it doesx not contain just those words). It's possible that you have noticed an erroneous edit to one of the other articles, but unless you tell us which one, it's hard to find. ColinFine (talk) 12:59, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've reverted to vandalism to Mani (prophet). - David Biddulph (talk) 13:07, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
the edit history on that page is insane 120.16.117.44 (talk) 14:03, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting an account

edit

How do I delete my Wikipedia account? There is no obvious link or button to click on for doing this that I can find, and in that respect the site is not at all user-friendly. --Werner Lind Werner Lind (talk) 15:39, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Werner Lind It is not possible to delete an account, as all edits must be attributable to someone. You may just abandon your account, some mark it as "retired" with {{retired}}. If you intend to not return, a vanishing is an option. 331dot (talk) 15:41, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Consider my account permanently abandoned. Werner Lind (talk) 15:46, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

do you capitalize names of planets

edit

Do you capitlize names of planes? Lyricca (talk) 18:10, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Lyricca. Yes. The names of planets are proper nouns and should be capitalized. Please see Jupiter or any other article about a planet. Cullen328 (talk) 18:14, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How to Follow Up on Article Submitted

edit

I have submitted an article several months ago and it has not be posted nor have I been contacted. What is my next step?˜˜˜˜ Alanamadrugada (talk) 18:51, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is about your sandbox, you haven't actually submitted it for review. I've added a template to it, which includes a button to submit. ■ ∃ Madeline ⇔ ∃ Part of me ; 18:53, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Alanamadrugada Were you to submit the draft, it would be declined immediately, since it has no sources. Please read our policy on biographies of living people and ensure you supply inline citations for everything mentioned. Mike Turnbull (talk) 20:15, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Alanamadrugada I don't know why RichardInHouse has an exact copy of the draft in their sandbox at User:RichardInHouse/sandbox but you should both be working on the same draft, not two copies. Mike Turnbull (talk) 20:23, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Expand language template(s) not generating category

edit

{{Expand language}} is used on Future Combat Air System for three different languages instead of individual templates. However, it doesn't generate a category. It is mentioned at the bottom of the documentation that the parameter |topic= is faulty, but no solution is offered. What to do? --Mango från yttre rymden (talk) 18:56, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Apostrophe help

edit

How to express apostrophes correctly? In my Slovene numeral system, an apostrophe expresses multiplication by 1,000, e.g. 'A = 1,000, 'B = 2,000, 'C = 3,000, 'Č = 4,000, 'I = 10,000, 'S, 100,000, ''A = 1,000,000. But A does not work. --40bus (talk) 21:34, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@40bus Is this "number system" something you just made up, which is not allowed on Wikipedia? Your draft has no sources and seems pretty weird, irrespective of how you hope to use apostrophes. It bears little resemblance to Slovene numerals. Mike Turnbull (talk) 22:52, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And your draft seems to be an unattributed (and therefore, licence-violating) copy of part of Hebrew numerals. The whole of User:40bus/Numerals seems to be in breach of WP:Wikipedia is not for things made up one day, and should probably be deleted under WP:U5. ColinFine (talk) 00:06, 12 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Where can I tell about these number systems? I do not have a website of my own, and I would to tell how these alphabetic numeral systems work. I did not like that none of languages using Latin alphabet have invented an alphabetic numeral system, and I was thrilled to see how to express numbers similar to Greek, Hebrew and Armenian numerals in letters of languages like English, Slovene, Finnish, Russian, Latvian and Turkish. --40bus (talk) 17:55, 12 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@40bus There are some suggestions for alternative outlets for your creativity at WP:OUT. On Wikipedia, you have to stick to Wikipedia's policies, one of which is that it is not a general webhost. Mike Turnbull (talk) 18:19, 12 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Some of these deleted bages should be returned for time when I copy their content to another service. --40bus (talk) 07:54, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@40bus: If you ask the administrator who deleted the page to send you a copy of it via email, they sometimes will do so depending on the reasons why the page was deleted. You can find out the name of the administrator who deleted a page either by searching for the page at Special:Log or by clicking on the red link for the page. If the pages you're asking about are User:40bus/Numerals/Slovene and User:40bus/Numerals, then the administrator who deleted them is named Orangemike. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:18, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
