- Please do your own homework.
Welcome to the Wikipedia Help desk. Your question appears to be a homework question. I apologize if this is a misevaluation, but it is our policy here not to do others' homework, but merely to aid them in doing it themselves. Letting someone else do your homework does not help you learn how to solve such problems.
Please attempt to solve the problem yourself first. You can search Wikipedia or search the Web.
If you need help with a specific part of your homework, the Reference desk can help you grasp the concept. Do not ask knowledge questions here, just those about using Wikipedia. Tollens (talk) 09:17, 1 April 2024 (UTC)

Query regarding article by a user
editThis article South Korea–Latin America relations was created yesterday. I think it is not actually required as most latin american countries have separate articles related to their relations with South Korea. What are your opinions? Leoneix (talk) 09:17, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Leoneix The main content of the article is a table which provides links to these bilateral-relation articles. In that respect it is somewhat like a list article and as it is adequately sourced, I think it is useful. Mike Turnbull (talk) 10:56, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- Okay Leoneix (talk) 11:12, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- Perhaps it will someday be linked in turn from "East Asia - Latin America relations". —Tamfang (talk) 19:04, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
Query by 27.58.192.155
editi have a question in a Wikipedia page a section is not having an opening arrow when you click on it and it is not showing the hearing line 27.58.192.155 (talk) 09:48, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- IP editor, you are going to have to specify which article or which page, otherwise it will not be possible for us to help you! Mike Turnbull (talk) 10:52, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- The mention of
opening arrow
makes me suspect this has to do with the mobile version of the site. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 14:07, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
The Gifted Episode Synopsis
editWhy have the episode synopsis for the TV Show The Gifted been removed? They were available to read on Thursday, March 28th and gone on Friday afternoon. What happened? How can I get them back? 169.226.152.168 (talk) 13:19, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- They are temporarily missing while a behind-the-scenes update takes place - see Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (television)#Technical updates. Primefac (talk · contribs) is working hard on the remaining updates. -- John of Reading (talk) 13:30, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
Juliusz Wolfsohn
editHello, how to add some information about Juliusz Wolfsohn? 5.91.62.231 (talk) 13:37, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
Juliusz had one sister Paulina Nachimzon - Wolfsohn, died in Treblinka in 1943 at the age of 85. 5.91.62.231 (talk) 13:42, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- IP editor: Wikidata shows that there are articles on him only in the German and Russian-language Wikipedias. What do you propose we here at the English Wikipedia do with the information you are supplying about his sister? Note that to add anything about a sister will require that you supply a reliable, published, source. Mike Turnbull (talk) 13:57, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
April Fools question
editHow do I joke nominate an article for deletion. Blitzfan51 speak to the manager 15:21, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- If you have to ask how, then you probably shouldn't see Wikipedia:April Fools/April Fools' Day 2024 for the mostly unfunny attempts. Theroadislong (talk) 15:28, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- There are instructions at the top of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/April Fools' Day 2024, @Blitzfan51, if you still want to make the attempt. 57.140.16.57 (talk) 16:00, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
Citation attribution when source is entirely reproduced in another publication
editWhat's the proper or usual way of creating a citation for a source that is located in its entirety, solely as a copy, in another publication?
Example: A news article has been reproduced on another web site or in the appendix of a book, with full attribution to its origin, and the article appears to be unavailable elsewhere.
Should the article be cited to the original publisher, with only the link pointing to the site where it has been reproduced? Tsavage (talk) 16:27, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- Tsavage there is advice on this at WP:SAYWHEREYOUGOTIT. TSventon (talk) 16:33, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- That answered my question. Thanks! Tsavage (talk) 17:00, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
Was my article submitted properly?
editI recently created a new article on the "Loudoun Resolves," which I believe I submitted, but this being my first new article I can't tell if it's actually been properly submitted. Although I see it on my account page, I haven't heard anything to suggest it's been submitted or is in review. I've not received any email or other indication to suggest it's in line for review or publication. Can you tell me how I would know if it was successfully submitted? Can you help me? Dawelker1861 (talk) 16:48, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- I have added the submit template to Draft:Loudoun Resolves for you. Theroadislong (talk) 16:51, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
Proposed a page for deletion
editHi Wikipedia Team,
I wanted to edit an organization page but it has been flagged and doesn't look good. As it has been rated low content. So we initiate a speedy deletion since January but only the edit I have made have been removed. We want the complete deletion of the page as we'll create a new one from scratch. Until now the page is still up. What do you advise us to do at this stage? Thank you in advance.
Best,
Aiche Aichemoussa (talk) 16:53, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- The guess is that this involves Global Partnership for Education, which is very thin (in fact almost non-existent) on secondary sources. There also looks like a possible WP:COI here.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 17:27, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- Yes the page is the Global Partnership for Education. And I'm not paid to edit it but I'm fron the communications team. We would like to update the page content as there are new relevant information. Would anyone tell me if the speed deletion is the solution? Or should I create a new page and submit that one a the main reference? Thank you Aichemoussa (talk) 18:18, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- This is a classic WP:BOSS situation. Wikipedia is not a business directory, and there needs to be enough secondary reliable sourcing to justify having an article.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 18:44, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. That's useful to know. Aichemoussa (talk) 18:52, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Aichemoussa: As you are part of the company, you must disclose a paid relationship with the subject
on [your] main user page, or on the talk page accompanying any paid contributions, or in edit summaries
, even if you're not being compensated for this particular job. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 18:46, 1 April 2024 (UTC)- Thank you for your input. The goal is to remain neutral as much as possible and of course we expect other contributors to edit the page. But also having a an existing page with accurate data is what we look to achieve. Nothing more. Aichemoussa (talk) 18:54, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Aichemoussa Minor point: your userpage disclosure needs to state your employer. Major point: every current citation in the article Global Partnership for Education is a link to your own website, except for the last one, which doesn't mention GPE at all. Wikipedia is not a rehash of company websites, it is an encyclopaedia with criteria for inclusion called notability. To demonstrate notability, your need multiple (at least three) sources which meet all the conditions mentioned here. Add such sources asap or the article is likely to be nominated for deletion. Becoming an editor
editHow do I become an editor? Editing a page specifically for Beta Sigma Phi. I'm a second generation legacy and can verify any info on it. Also, my great Aunt was Nettie Lee Benson (tenured History professor of Spanish American studies at University of Texas, Austin) and I have a history degree from Texas A&M. I'm 6th generation Texan (and Daughter of the American Revolution) with a vast knowledge of Texas history. And ican also trace my paternal lineage to John Hanson (first president of the continental congress, senate first president of the United States but logistics 🤣).So I'd like to see if i can gain access to Wikipedia so I can add historical pics/ documents with references.
I am doing the research and watching videos to learn but trying to figure the whole system out.
Thank you! Julie Baxter Baxter00Jules (talk) 19:10, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Baxter00Jules: Hi there! By editing here, you have become an editor! Any information you would like to add to the Beta Sigma Phi article must be based on a published reliable source, not just your vast knowledge. You may wish to post your suggestions on the article's talk page - Talk:Beta Sigma Phi - to collaborate with other editors on how to improve the article. Happy editing! adding a higher resolution png of an insignia
editGood day, i have a higher resolution of this insignia (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:1st_(BE)_Corps_insignia.png) and i want to add it. please tell me how to proceed in sharing it. I keep on getting the copyright problem but there is no copyright to it as far as i am concerned, i was born there and it's history and pretty public. Or maybe i am just doing something wrong. Thanks for your assistance in advance. WARD MARTEIN (talk) 21:16, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- @WARD MARTEIN: Hi there! Since you're asking about an issue you're having at Wikimedia Commons, I suggest their help desk at commons:Commons:Help desk. Good luck! GoingBatty (talk) 03:29, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- @WARD MARTEIN If your file is a .png that's identical to the existing insignia but just of a higher resolution, then the best way forward is to upload it at the existing file's page on Commons. That's at File:1st_(BE)_Corps_insignia.png (your link had an unwanted closing bracket): there is a link on that page for this purpose. The advantage of doing this is that all the articles where the existing file is used will automatically update. Mike Turnbull (talk) 12:07, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
Edit to Max Schneider Page
editHello,
I tried to make an edit to the bio page for Max Schneider to clarify that his father is Dan H. Schneider, executive director of the Flobel Foundation and a lawyer from New York. Max Schneider is not related to Nickelodeon's Dan Schneider. Br19881987 (talk) 21:25, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- You didn't offer an independent source in the article ("bio page") that identified confusion about whom he is related to as an issue for Max Schneider- you just put a note. 331dot (talk) 21:36, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- Do you represent him? 331dot (talk) 21:37, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- A better way to approach this would be to find a reliable source that describes who is father is and what he does, then it would be clear. 331dot (talk) 21:39, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
Draft submitted late last year
editYou sent me an Inquiry two days ago about a draft article I submitted late last year mentioning that I had not made corrections/amendments for five months and what was my plan with it
The title of the draft article is "Proportional Representation - Party List would create a different political culture in Australia".
I did not realise that it had to be edited, I lost you inquiry so please send it again if you don't mind. I frequently have article published in Australia about this topic by digital publishers, e.g. Independent Australia and Pearls and Irritations. I find it quite complicated to get in touch with you to be frank but I am certainly interested to have this article published by you - and other ones as well. Klaas Woldring (talk) 23:52, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Klaas Woldring: The draft has been deleted. See the note on your talk page User_talk:Klaas_Woldring if you would like it undeleted so that you can continue to work on it RudolfRed (talk) 23:54, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- That title strikes me as more appropriate to an op-ed than to an encyclopedia article. —Tamfang (talk) 19:10, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
