This WikiProject was formed to foster better articles on Melanesia with a spirit of cooperation.
Goals
editThe goals of this project are to create, improve, and maintain articles relating to Melanesia, its history, people, geography, and culture. This includes the countries and islands of Fiji, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, East Timor and Vanuatu. Also included are Melanesian parts of Indonesia including the provinces of Maluku, North Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara, Papua and Papua Barat (Western New Guinea).
Milestones
edit- 5000 articles: - 4 July 2023
Scope
editThe scope of this project is all articles which deal with the region, countries, people, and history of Melanesia. These articles should all be contained in the Category:Melanesia or one of its subcategories. We gratefully acknowledge the work of Wikipedia:WikiProject Fiji, and will be focusing the majority of our own efforts on those articles with which they are not directly involved.
