Actors who are Jewish

Should there be a reference in the article about Julie_Kavner voice Marge Simpson that she is jewish?:http://www.jewornotjew.com/profile.jsp?ID=413 Also is this link http://www.jewishjournal.com/geekheeb/item/top_5_jewish_moments_in_trek_20090507/ for stating the trek and bUffy actor armin shimerman is Jewish? And I'm wondering since the BCC tv show The_No._1_Ladies'_Detective_Agency_(TV_series) was filmed and set in Botswana that there should be a catgeory teleivesion shows set or filmed in Botswana? On the Jewish matter I think it has to do with whether they have publicly identified themselves with a reliable source and whether it part of their notability. I don't know about Botswana categories. Do we have enough articles to warrant a category?--Canoe1967 (talk) 02:15, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

Isn't knowing about celebrities religious background kind of "public knowledge"/ I mean look at the list of Jewish actors wikipedia has: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Jewish_actors It's a huge list! Don't celebrities want to tell people about their Jewish faith or Jewish background and doesn't the public want to know? If they didn't the list of "Jewish actors" wouldn't be provided on wikipedia. Different people have different levels of caring. Of more importance is the relevence to the article in question. For some people (say, notable Rabbis or Ministers or Priests or Monks), a person't religious background is inherently tied to their reason for being well known. For other people, even if it is well known, it is also completely irrelevent to the reason for their being well known. Some entertainers are significantly tied to their religion (Jackie Mason, for example), but not every person who is, say, Jewish and an entertainer is notably known for both. Julie Kavener probably fits into this latter type: her Jewishness isn't connected in any meaningful way to her work, so it isn't worth categorizing over. --Jayron32 03:42, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

The US constitution says people have a right to express their religion. Armin Shimerman is talking about Judaism himself in this video: http://whedonesque.com/comments/23232 Clearly if a celebrity talks about about their faith shouldn't be that ok to post on wikipedia? Youtube itself is not a reliable source--you can't just give their link by itself as a ref. But if you can identify a video there properly with him saying he is Jewish (like "BBC interview by Stephen Frye of A.S. on June 31, 2013") then it will serve as a source, and you can also link to it if you believe there is no copyright violation. μηδείς (talk) 05:33, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

We might also ask which sports you are interested in, since no-one can watch ALL the Olympic events because they're on simultaneously. Right now, I'm watching the Men's Road Race (cycling), keeping abreast of the Swimming, and studiously ignoring the Artistic Gymnastics, but that still leaves the Rowing and the Archery that's just finished. There are a number of places where you can see a single sport at a time - you could start at the websites of the Olympics broadcasters to see if they have a feed. Also note in the linked article, "IOC announced on June 6, 2012 that they will provide the livestream of the Games via YouTube for 64 territories across Asia and Africa. Name of movie

I vaguely remember the movie's name to be something along the lines of 11:47 or something. Basically, it was the time when several accidents/deaths happened simultaneously in a city, and each incident was related to the others. There was a dead body that someone pushed off the bridge, a car accident, a shooting incident where someone's penis was shot off, and there was a grave-yard sex-scene where the bust of a statue fell on the head of the guy and killed him. Can anyone locate the 1997 British TV version of Fiona Shaw staring as Richard II in Deborah Warner's production of the Shakespeare play?

The best I have been able to do is track down the listing at IMDb http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120016/ and find a three part video about various castings of the play at youtube with only excerpts. They used to show it on the Ovation Channel on Time Warner Cable in NY. The acting is brilliant, especially by Shaw and Graham Crowden. The production company was Illuminations. They do offer films to purchase on their website, although unfortunately this doesn't appear to be one of them. However, you may wish to contact them to ask if it could be made available. It may be that someone else holds the rights - I think it was on the BBC, who generally hold on to the distribution rights, so you might need to go to BBC Worldwide, but I'm sure the production company could tell you. - Cucumber Mike (talk) 18:52, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

No. Programs are typically available on iPlayer for 7 days after transmission - sometimes longer, but 15 years is pushing it! You can search here, although you can only play videos when in the UK. Incidentally, there is an adaptation of the Richard II story available right now, but it's not the one you're looking for. - Cucumber Mike (talk) 19:21, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

Ah, no. On one hand, where I used to live I noticed that a lot of Indian shops offered conversion service. On another hand, I don't remember that the aforementioned ex ever mentioned using such a service, so maybe Illuminations carries both formats. —Tamfang (talk) 04:09, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

Olympic athlete questions

Does anyone know who holds the following Olympic records?

• oldest / youngest athlete to participate in any Olympics
• oldest / youngest athlete to win any medal
• oldest / youngest athlete to win a gold medal
• oldest / youngest athlete who holds the most medals

How do we interpret the last one, Joseph? The youngest/oldest will not necessarily hold most medals, and the holder of most medals will not necessarily be the youngest/oldest. -- ♬ Jack of Oz ♬ ^{[your turn]} 22:49, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
