Mini thin

I have inserted refrences to the page "Mini thin" that I have created, and believinq that I have done it right, the reason for deletion consideration should be reconsidered. Thank you, and if you review it, and it still isn't correct, please let me try again. Thank you again (: -Larae.marie (talk) 21:52, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Shitload

I would like to re-create this page citing information from many different sources and including many different categories of measurement, much more information than has ever been included on this topic. -DalePMay (talk) 02:26, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
  •   Not done Feel free to work on an article in your user space (in other words, use User:Dalepmay/sandbox or something like that). Please note that Wikipedia is not for original research and all content must be reliably sourced. I cannot fathom an appropriate article on this topic, but if you can come up with one that is well-sourced, you are welcome to submit it. Unless/until there is something to work with that is appropriate, I don't believe it would be appropriate to unprotect this title as it is a big vandalism target. --B (talk) 03:03, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Hallmark Business Connections

The article was originally deleted because Marketing doesn't grok what Wikipedia is, they think you are an anagram of Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter that they just don't "get" yet. I'd like to create a new article and I will undo the edits that Marketing does this time, even if I get fired. -Kelly.schoenhofen (talk) 03:35, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
  •   Not done (For any other admins looking at this, the deleted revisions are at Special:Undelete/Hallmark_business_connections.) Please note that Wikipedia prefers that you not edit in areas where you have a conflict of interest. I strongly suggest allowing someone not affiliated with your company to create it - if it is truly notable, someone else will create it at some point. Wikipedia's guideline for inclusion of articles about companies says, "A company, corporation, organization, school, team, religion, group, product, or service is notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in secondary sources. Such sources must be reliable, and independent of the subject. A single independent source is almost never sufficient for demonstrating the notability of an organization." If you believe it meets this guideline and you wish to create a neutral and reliably sourced article despite the conflict of interest, you could work on it in your user space (eg, create the page at User:Kelly.schoenhofen/HBC sandbox) and then present it when done here. If you prefer to ask that the page be immediately unprotected, you will need to discuss that directly with Toddst1 (talk · contribs), the admin who protected it, or you can make a request at deletion review. I strongly suggest, though, before pursuing any of the above that you do research to see if there is significant coverage of this company in reliable sources independent of the subject. If there is not, then recreating it would be a waste of time, it will only be re-deleted. --B (talk) 04:28, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

VisualMediaWorks

The reason for deletion is "No evidence of notability". The following is a more detailed description of the reference sources for the VisualMediaWorks article, especially for reviewers who are not familiar with the 3d computer graphics industry. Other than the 2 books cited that mentioned VisualMediaWorks' contribution in the field of architecture and design solution for an artist (- in fact, VisualMediaWorks was already been mentioned in Wikipedia under the article Alkaff Bridge), there are references from SIGGRAPH Asia (- the Asian version of SIGGRAPH, which stated in Wikipedia, "widely considered the most prestigious forum for the publication of computer graphics research"), Autodesk (- a name that no computer graphics related industry will not know as they produced all the major 3d softwares like 3ds Max, Maya and Softimage, I think a company will need to have certain notibility to be invited to give talks in their regional events), CG Times (- A very comprehensive magazine on Computer Graphics in Chinese. From the summary of contents on the same issue that featured VisualMediaWorks, they featured CG Movie Astro Boy (film), District 9, CG Animator Brian Dowrick, CG Graphics for Puccini's Musical Turandot, and many more), Channel NewsAsia (- as stated in Wikipedia, it is a major Asian news broadcaster with programmes telecast to more than 20 Asian countries and territories. I think this source should be a major reference in terms of notibility and significant coverage), Lianhe Zaobao (- as stated in Wikipedia, is the largest Singapore-based Chinese newspaper and establishing a regional presence for itself, with subscriptions for its print edition from Southeast Asia, China, Hong Kong as well as organisations such as the United Nations. I think the source should contribute to some significant coverage as well). It is really a pity that these major reference news sources Lianhe Zaobao and ChannelNewsAsia could not be linked online as the news articles on their website only display for 7 days. All news articles before 7 days are taken offline. -Lwxmagix (talk) 08:44, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Jim Bender

"As mentioned in the discussion page, this article broke no rules or guidelines whatsoever. The "issues" section (childishly called the 'election manifesto' section by one of the deletion advocates) consisted of nothing more than facts about the candidates positions on several issues, and involved no bias or "advertising" of any kind. Furthermore, such a section exists on another candidate's page (found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Binnie). Mr. Binnie is an opponent of Mr. Bender in the NH senate race and if his page is allowed to exist then the Jim Bender page should as well. The Jim Bender Wikipedia page is the opposite of "spam" as it was referred to in the deletion discussion. It was a short, simple article providing basic information about a notable person as described in detail in the deletion discussion. Anyone interested in the actual rules governing the inclusion of political candidates should see WP:POLITICIAN for details."

      • Yeah ... I see that. On first look I didn't realize it was all puppets. Looking at RealClearPolitics polling data, he got 4% and 11% in the two polls, but he does seem to get non-trivial media coverage. Usually for someone polling that low, you just see their name in a list of candidates. From a quick google, I'm reasonably convinced that he is notable, but I do agree with you, it needs a rewrite. --B (talk) 20:00, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Peter Nicholson (poet and author)

Leghari created this page on June 14. It was deleted four times by two administrators June 14. The article was deleted because of notability provisions in Wikipedia. One administrator commented the article did not provide 'independently verifiable resources'. But the article quotes the former Chair of the Literature Board of the Australia Council and includes quotations from three 'independent' publications which are footnoted. The article also annotates the archive of my website by the National Library of Australia which one of the administrators makes light of. Another comment was that the article read like a positive review rather than an encyclopedia article. Leghari's article includes critical commentary and is written in an objective tone. He worked hard to make the article fit Wikipedia protocols and I would like the article --Waverleywattle (talk) 23:50, 15 June 2010 (UTC)considered for undeletion. Thanks.

Mod My... LLC

I don't see why the Mod My... LLC page was deleted, it is simply an informational page about a company and its website. This is no different from the wikipedia page of Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. I understand that you may think it is advertising, but if you read the content, you would see that it is not. If it was advertising, words like "please visit" or "best website" would've been used, and I would understand the deletion. The page was simply going to give a brief UNBIASED synopsis of the website, in which there was no possible advertisement in the description. -Jenki221 (talk) 12:23, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

ManagePro

The article was originally deleted for advertising. I object to the deletion of this article. I feel this software deserves mention in wikipedia due to it's uniqueness as a management software. It's an award-winning software program that enables business managers and workgroups to achieve business objectives through a core performance management process. This software was designed in part on Peter Drucker's research on Management by Objectives and has built on it's foundation to further provide value to leaders across many industries, including government agencies. Even though ManagePro is distributed by a small company, it has competed with and won bids against much larger software companies due to its complete set of performance, strategic alignment and portfolio planning business tools. -Tswelch (talk) 22:16, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

This was my first attempt and it was "speedily deleted" as it contained copyright material apparently without permission. As I am the owner of that material I did not realise I had to give permission (or in fact know how to signify it on the page). The offending section was specially written for my website www.baptism.org.uk. It is not the intention to make the wiki page a repeat of that large web site - but to extract one issue that is crucial for discussion.

Please may I be told how to release copyright and be given another chance?

Are there any articles independent of the company (eg, from a newspaper) that mention the company other than in passing? --B (talk) 22:28, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the review. However, there are many sources that are completely about the company in the newspapers. fulfilNET is the parent company of Yodel. See the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th & 11th sources. They are primarily about fulfilNET or Yodel. Also I have had other reviews by Qwerp, see User_talk:QwerpQwertus#Yodel_Australia. He would like it to be put live. Please let me know what you think. I have really really tried to make this information as reliable as possible. Natkolk (talk) 22:44, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
    • Press releases (eg link 3) are not independent and third party. Most of the links you have don't even mention Yodel - just FulfilNET. Why not make your article about FulfilNET? They seem to be notable and you could add a paragraph mentioning Yodel Australia. --B (talk) 02:54, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
      • FulfilNET is much bigger then just Yodel Australia. The Yodel article focuses on all the changes that Yodel has had to it, per year, the services etc. I have spent quite a lot of time building this article and would really really appreciate if you could put it live. The other times it got banned was only because there were little to no links, however I have changed this and Qwerp helped me out. I have spent hours writing this and as this was my first Wikipedia article I was unaware of all the rules. I have really attempted to find notable sources and write a neutral article. I am actually quite proud of my work. Please help me out. Natkolk (talk) 03:02, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
        • In order to be restored, you will need to make a request at deletion review. From the references you have, though, I don't think you will get the result you want. What you have does not seem to meet the threshold of "significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources". --B (talk) 03:35, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

list of foreigners in Japan December 1941

is it possible to undelete a file if don't remember its exact name? It has in it "list of foreigners in Japan December 1941", it was not my article but may have useful material, I dewatched it before I knew we could undelete, it was deleted about two years ago. Sorry I can't help more. Userfying is all I need, don't put it back to article space. -Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 10:06, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Userfied – the page has been restored to the userspace at User:Kintetsubuffalo/List_of_foreign_residents_in_Japan_(December_1941). It was deleted per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of foreign residents in Japan (December 1941) --Tikiwont (talk) 10:21, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Thank you so much! --Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 18:24, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Litera

I submitted the article last week and submitted it for feedback. A few users edited my article and then this morning one user tagged it for speedy deletion stating it was advertising. I'm new to Wiki and I deleted the speedy deletion template because I misunderstood the process; I added comments to the talk page and thought that was sufficient. I asked the user why they thought it was advertising because other users had reviewed the same article and didn't have that problem. I got a quick message back from a different user chastizing me for removing the deletion template and when I went back to fix it, my page had been deleted because it was deemed as advertising.

I thought the whole point of the talk page was to discuss things? Why offer that if the time elapsed between being tagged for deletion to actual deletion is less than one hour? How can I go about getting the page undeleted so I can at least attempt to fix the problem this one user saw? -Docexpert101 (talk) 13:54, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

If a tag has been tagged for speedy deletion, the original author should not delete the tag, which is why it was reverted & you were warned.
If you feel the article should stay, you should place the {{hangon}} tag below the speedy tag and then explain on the talk page why you think the article should stay. Other editors will then usually reply, however the hangon tag does not automatically stop the article from being deleted. I sugged you red up on some of the policies on en.wiki.
You can also look at starting articles on your own sandbox to get the article ready for mainspace without it being tagged for deletion. - Happysailor (Talk) 13:58, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I didn't get that I wasn't supposed to delete the template, so that was my fault. The template was put back on and I did the hangon and wrote on the talk page. Then it was deleted without any discussion. This whole thing happened in less than 15 minutes. I think the person who deleted it was mad that I took off the speedy deletion template, which was my fault but it was not done maliciously. My point is that multiple other users edited and reviewed it before this one person marked it for deletion. I think its worthwhile to point that out and makes a stronger case for my page than I can.

So how do I go about getting the page looked at again and undeleted? Docexpert101 (talk) 14:13, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Userfied – the page has been restored to the userspace at User:Docexpert101/Litéra. You may work on improving the article's assertion of notability at its new location, but please contact Athaenara (talk · contribs), the administrator who deleted the page, before moving it back to the article space. Please see the criteria for speedy deletion and the relevant notability guidelines - articles that are not in compliance will be deleted. --Tikiwont (talk) 14:53, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Please note that the VAST MAJORITY of companies in existence do not meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about corporations. If the content is advertising or if there is not significant coverage in multiple reliable sources, then the article is only going to be deleted again. Press releases do not count. Things like their list of partners are obviously not appropriate for an encyclopedia article. --B (talk) 14:57, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Shuzo Matsunaga

Thirukkural is the masterpiece of Tamil literature with the highest and purest expressions of human thought. It is written in the form of couplets (two line poems) expounding various aspects of life. Mr.Shuzo translated the tamil version of thirukkural to Japanese and published it as a book in japan and received a wide response among Japanese readers. Not limited to thirukkural, he also translated more tamil literature books to Japanese. I hope this explains the importance of having a page for him in Wikipedia. -61.12.17.170 (talk) 14:06, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Done – as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored upon request. Nevertheless, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shuzo Matsunaga. --Tikiwont (talk) 15:04, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

swapmypix

I believe the entry we created for swapmypix is similar to other entries on wikipedia for other photo sharing sites like snapfish and flickr. We did not make any judgments on swapmypix or try to promote it as the best photo sharing site. We simply put what we know about the page. I am married to one of the owners and decided to create a page about his site. I would welcome others to contribute to the page and add whatever they know about the company and services they provide. If there are things that need to be removed or added, I would love to do so. Again, I do not believe the page I created was just trying to promote the site. It is there to give people more information about swapmypix and contribute any other knowledge they may have about the company and services. Please allow the page to be added back. Thank you. -Morajazzmo (talk) 16:04, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Not done – this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about companies. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning companies will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. Also please note that the fact that you are married to the owner of the site gives you a conflict of interest. Your comment on creating it based on what you know leads me to believe that you did not cite sources. Unfortunately Wikipedia cannot accept articles that do not cite sources because we could no longer be able to check for verifiability. Please read WP:My first article to know more of the guidelines for creating an article. I would suggest getting more familiar with Wikipedia before requesting this article to be undeleted again Mr. R00t Talk 18:29, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

shephard dube

i do not understand why the article about this great young umpire can not be included in wikipedia, he is the world's youngest cricket umpire and he is from the previously disadvantage group. there for i think it is unreasonable for wikipedia to be including articles about ordinary cricket umpires but excluding this extra ordinary one. please restore this article because it is of great importance in the history of cricket. -41.114.162.9 (talk) 17:28, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

the postelles

we need this article shephard dube is a noteworthy person

It appears the page for The Postelles has been repeatedly deleted for lack of notability. The last delete log cites that the band merits a page, but that the article lacks proper content. I fully agree with the early deletions of the page, but it seems silly to keep this page locked at this point. The band is one of the only artists to have played Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival that still lack an article. There are plenty of good sources for information on the band both print and online including Rolling Stone, Spin Magazine, and Billboard. -Wallen75 (talk) 19:32, 21 June 2010 (UTC) --Wallen75 (talk) 19:32, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

I have seen Du Kirpalani perform numerous times at the Comedy Store in Hollywood. He is hilarious on stage. I make a living as a talent Manager and I think this guy certainly has "it". His writing is fantastic, such an interesting voice. I think his break into American television sitcom and comedy will come soon, only a matter of time before people catch on to this guy's talents!

Du Kirpalani - please help

reasoning -Dukirpalani (talk) 20:32, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I was just informed that my article on wikipedia is about to be deleted. I don't understand why...

Everything that is up there has been added by friends, colleagues and family and everything is true and can be verified. I even have 2 of my credits on imdb. Not all producers in India are listed on imdb, so it's not possible to have all of them listed on imdb. I have been performing at the Comedy Store. I have a link on youtube. I have been performing at other places, but they don't allow recording. The tvwriter.com contest is listed on their website.

Please let me know what I must do. I depend on wikipedia to get new work and I don't look professional if my articles are subject to deletion. Not only employers, but lawyers check up on me.

Please, please get back to me as soon as you can and please, please don't delete my page. Everything is true.

Thanks and best, dushant kirpalani (aka du kirpalani)

Note-I am disturbed by "I depend on wikipedia to get new work"-then you totally miss the point of Wikipedia. --Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 14:17, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Yes - to post your CV for professional purposes you need a site like LinkedIn or Facebook, that is definitely not what Wikipedia is for. JohnCD (talk) 16:24, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi,

I was the executive producer on 'The Great Indian Comedy Show' and confirm that Du Kirpalani was the staff writer.

Thanks, Anuradha

Not done - for the fourth time: this page is for requests about pages which have been deleted, but this article has not been deleted. There is a deletion debate taking place at WP:Articles for deletion/Du Kirpalani and your opinion is welcomed there; but note that the discussion is not a vote and it will not help to bring in friends and supporters: the question at issue is whether the article meets Wikipedia's requirement of notability, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" - see also WP:ENTERTAINER. You've been instructed several times on your talkpage that writing articles about yourself is a no-no. In the event you don't read your talkpage, You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, instead of writing it yourself. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest. Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.--Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 14:12, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

CheFEM

The deletion was motivated by lack of notability. Dr. Kate Stuart does not agree with this motivation. CheFEM is a new developed simulation program for service life predictions of polymer based materials. The fact that the program is rather new, and the possible lack of knowledge on highly specialistic chemical-physical simulation programs of the ones who deleted the page, might have causes this deletion. Sincerely, Kate -Kate P Stuart (talk) 22:38, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

He just recently fought for the Heavyweight championship of the world. -Jeffthewrestler (talk) 20:55, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Anushka Wirasinha

Malice and jealousy against a listed well known person should not be a cause for deletion of that person. Anushka Wirasinha is a very well known and highly respected IT author. Those who have asked that the article be deleted have no reasonable facts to warrant such a claim. They have not bothered to verify the details and have slandered without reason. There are facts to support this author that are more than enough to give her inclusion in Wikipedia. Anushka Wirasinha earned a BSc Economics degree from University of London. It can be verified from the University. Her foundation page has "CSS Harvard" which is the qualification she received. The Certificate of Special Studies is beyond grad level and it is awarded by Harvard. She also was an assistant lecturer in Micro Computers and Information Technology at Harvard and this also can be verified. She is a published author with Prentice Hall of India and this can be verified by them at www.phindia.com. Over 20 Universities have her books "Visually Learn PC, On Your Marks Net Set Go...Surviving in an eworld and Flash in a Flash: Web Development listed in their curriculum (please see the links on her foundation page). IMTA is the International and Modeling Talent Association where students from modeling schools are "selected" on talent basis to compete where she got "best smile". There is a fee to enter IMTA but from those who pay the fee you have to be selected and very few are selected. Please note that Katie Holmes was discovered at IMTA and please don't discredit such credible talent organizations. Sigma Xi membership is given after looking into many credits and she is a member and you can verify with them. She is also a Master Practitioner of NLP directly taught under Paul McKenna and Richard Bandler. Her books are in the Library of Congress copyright office and you can see through their online catalog. There are endless newspaper articles about her by genuine and reputable papers. Deletion of her from wikipedia should not have even come up. Given the facts and position outlined above I request the article be undeleted immediately. -Chamithra (talk) 06:22, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
