Articles for creation/Thirty Years of Research on Race Differences in Cognitive Ability

I seek to contest the decision for speedy deletion. At the very least I want to save the content to my user area so that I might improve it. -Yfever (talk) 09:09, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Done. I have restored the article to your user space at User:Yfever/Thirty Years of Research on Race Differences in Cognitive Ability. As this was deleted after a deletion discussion at WP:Articles for deletion/Thirty Years of Research on Race Differences in Cognitive Ability, before re-posting it you need to convince user Mark Arsten (talk), the administrator who closed the discussion, that you have overcome the reasons for deletion; failing that, you may apply at WP:Deletion review with a link to your draft. siib leadership series

the page has been deleted as it was perceived as an advertisement campaign. It is actually an event called SIIB Leadership Series of an educational institution called SIIB or Symbiosis Institute of International Business, Pune, India. It is not an ad or promotion. It is in fact information to all the people about our event. Please reconsider your decision of deleting the wikipedia page. -115.112.95.166 (talk) 22:43, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi.

The file is deleted per Wikipedia:CSD#F5 ("Unused non-free media file for more than 7 days"). However, the article for which this file was uploaded does not have an image and is in need of one. Correct me if I am wrong, but the correct course of action is to use this file to resolve the unused status.

Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 19:47, 12 August 2013 (UTC) -Codename Lisa (talk) 19:47, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

{{notdone}}. That image was removed from the article over a year ago in this edit, and was not used again. I see no reason to restore a non-free image that hasn't been needed for such a long time. ~Amatulić (talk) 20:31, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
  • First, I gave you a reason: It is needed right now.
  • Second, did you press the next button? On the very same day, the replacement image is deleted (for whatever reason) and the article is left without an image, in need of one. So, contrary to your statement, it has been needed for such a long time.
I don't know why no one got around to reinstate it then and there but again, I don't care: The correct course of action is to restore it and the fact that no one has attempted it does not make it the wrong course of action.
Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 22:55, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
The article is not left without an image. It already contains three, including a perfectly adequate one in the infobox which you are apparently proposing to replace. ~Amatulić (talk) 14:33, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
Hello! You are hereby nominated for The Most Careless Admin on Earth Award!   I am sending you a barnstar.
The three images that you mention are all free wordmarks. The infobox image is this very same image – undeleted, but not by you. And you have forgotten the rule of thumb here: It is okay to restore an image that, if reuploaded with the same desc page, is unlikely to be deleted again. Best regards, Codename Lisa (talk) 01:15, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
Done Marking request as done. One way or the other. Best regards, Codename Lisa (talk) 01:16, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Asylum Support Partnership

reasoning -Royblewitt (talk) 15:06, 18 August 2013 (UTC) This page should be retained as it connects to several existing organisations with Pages including the refugee council (who originally created the link) it is a page of public interest as it details the systems that the United Kingdom uses to support its obligations under international law to help those seeking asylum in that country (United Kingdom). It talks about how the 6 organisations within the Island of Britain (including Scotland and Wales and English Regions) co-operate to give Asylum aid. Indeed people may well be doing searches to find the Asylum Support Partnership to study the asylum systems in the United Kingdom or is seeking asylum.

Bardel Entertainment

This article was deleted three times, but only through WP:PROD and WP:CSD. I believe that the subject of this article satisfies WP:N, even if there was no indication of significance in the previous version. (Note that I did not create this article.) An undeletion request addressed to the deleting administrator of the latest revision was unsuccessful. I would therefore like to request not only that this article be restored (and unprotected, since it is currently create protected) but that all of the previous versions of the article be restored so that editors such as myself have as much existing material to work with as possible. Also, note that the main reason I want it restored is so that other editors can work on it - I specifically do not want it userfied. -Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 15:53, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

Not done. The version deleted on 20 Dec 12 was a copyright violation from the company's website, so cannot be restored, but you can see it at http://www.bardel.ca/company. The one deleted two days later said only "Bardel Entertainment was founded in 1988 by Barry ward and Delna Bhesania. It is a vancouver based animation studio has done animation for many companies such as DreamWorks, Nickelodeon, Warner Brothers, Disney, and Fox broadcasting company." Anyone interested in writing about this company should make a userspace draft with independent sources to show notability, and then approach user Bbb23 (talk), the salting admin, for permission to post it. JohnCD (talk) 16:16, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
Fine, but what about the third version? Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 16:17, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
I have looked through all the deleted revisions, and there is really nothing there that would be of significant help to someone starting on this, or worth the trouble of selective undeletion, which I would anyway be reluctant to do without Bbb23's agreement. No references but the company's website and IMDb and LinkedIn entries, no more information than a list of some projects and the statements that: "The word "Bardel" comes from their names, Barry and Delna, combined" and "Bardel has more than 300 employees, and 4 buildings in Vancouver." JohnCD (talk) 16:39, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

EGG (Ensemble)

reasoning -Dominiceckersley (talk) 21:34, 18 August 2013 (UTC) It appears that the page I have uploaded today, namely "EGG (Ensemble)" has been deleted due to the inclusion of copyrighted materials. However, this page does not include copyrighted material. My user page "Dominiceckersley" likewise contained only information from my online biography at www.dominiceckersley.me, for which I am the sole copyright owner.

I would, therefore, respectfully request the undeletion of the above named page.

Kindly,

Dominic Eckersley.

(Non-administrator comment) That would be the textbook definition of a copyright violation, according to Wikipedia. See Donating copyrighted materials .. but more importantly, see WP:COI and WP:GNG ES&L 21:39, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
Not done - this page was deleted in accordance with criterion for speedy deletion A7. If you believe that this decision was made in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, please contact the administrator who carried out the deletion. If you have already done so, your concerns can be taken to deletion review. —C.Fred (talk)

Alison Rosen

The page was deleted because "she wasn't notable enough". Now she is the cohost of The Adam Carolla Show, the world's most downloaded podcast. She is also the host of her own podcast, Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend. She is notable. -71.45.125.206 (talk) 23:47, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

  •   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alison Rosen (3rd nomination), it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Secret (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. Page has already gone through a deletion review. You could try creating a proposed article at Articles for Creation and getting it to a point that the name could be usurped from the redirect. Also you will have to fight precedent of 3 AFDs and a Full Page Protection in order to get an idndividual article back. Hasteur (talk) 00:12, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Not Dead Yet

Important disability rights organization [1] with multiple links on Wikipedia [2]; concern that the deletion could be related to an editing dispute on the Wikipedia page for Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment on August 3, 2013, the same day this page was deleted -72.221.97.129 (talk) 20:56, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

Not done. The only sources given were the organization's website and a brief quote from its leader in a 2004 newspaper article. That is not the significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources required to establish Wikipedia:Notability. Also, the article appeared to be a WP:COATRACK for publicising an attack by the group's leader on a named individual as "the most dangerous man on earth" and "an advocate of genocide". Wikipedia is not a soapbox, a battleground, or a vehicle for propaganda, advertising and showcasing. If you can write an article which establishes notability from independent sources and maintains a neutral point of view you are welcome to do that, either registering an account (if you do not already have one) and using Help:Userspace draft, or using WP:Articles for creation; but you should check with user Bbb23 (talk), the deleting adminstrator, before posting it. JohnCD (talk) 10:29, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Golden Dragon Museum

The deletion request stated the organization wasn't notable. The Golden Dragon Museum was the first museum accredited under the museum's accreditation program http://www.mavic.asn.au/museum_accreditation_program . Since the Museum was opened in 1991 it has become the largest museum of Chinese history and Culture in Australia. It is one of the foremost tourist attractions in the City of Greater Bendigo (A Traveler's Guide to the Goldfields, 2006, ISBN 0-9756023-3-0). It contains the longest processional imperial dragon in the world and the oldest. The oldest dragon, Loong is heritage listed http://vhd.heritage.vic.gov.au/#search:simple:user:list:database%7Cplaces:Loong:1. It has been talked about in numerous publications all over the world, including the major newspaper the Age http://newsstore.theage.com.au/apps/viewDocument.ac?page=1&sy=age&kw=The+Golden+Dragon+Museum&pb=all_ffx&dt=selectRange&dr=10years&so=relevance&sf=text&sf=headline&rc=200&rm=200&sp=nrm&clsPage=1&docID=SAG050710O3IM3K2UFLD and many others. As you can see the Golden Dragon Museum is a pretty notable organization. The page may have needed editing. Not deletion. -Sir Langan (talk) 03:23, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Indefinite logarithm

(after contacting Mark Arsten, administrator) The concept is useful, referenced in many places (verifiable by using Google), so a brief article is in the interest of Wikipedia readers. Tehn Diamond

The article Tehn Diamond was deleted on grounds of "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion" When the page was NOT exclusively promotional, nor was it promoting product. The page was educational about the Zimbabwean performer Tehn Diamond and the things he does in his life. The deletion was incorrect and unfounded. Content I submitted for the artist is verifiable, but I need to cite more references and remove some links. -Greedysouthzw (talk) 07:16, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Not done. This read like a puff piece: "a piece of art that could have easily been an album... their collaborative magic gained impressive momentum both locally and internationally... the formation of a new super-team... their powerful collaborative chemistry... " etc. Also, all the references but one were his own website or your blog: that is not enough to establish notability, and since the article talks of a "forthcoming debut album" it does not seem that his career has (yet) reached the level required for WP:MUSICBIO. JohnCD (talk) 11:20, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Brian Brushwood

The article Brian Brushwood was deleted on grounds of "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion" When the page was NOT exclusively promotional, nor was it promoting product. The page was educational about the performer Brian Brushwood and the things he does in his life. The deletion was incorrect and unfounded. -HeyDNicole (talk) 07:32, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

SATORP (Jubail Export Refinery)

this page simply explains what SATORP is and how it is contributing towards the improvement of world oil and gas crisis. there is nothing promotional written on this page. my intention is not to promote but make it available for interested readers. I removed certain promotional sentences which were tagged by the admin -Pillai.mech (talk) 10:11, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Not done. (a) Large chunks were copied from websites like this and this. That is a copyright violation and cannot be restored; (b) to establish Wikipedia:Notability needs references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject", but none of the references were independent; and (c) the whole thing read like the company telling the world about itself, and Wikipedia is not a place for that. There was lot of irrelevant detail, like lists of contractors and puff pieces about the partners: "a world leader in exploration", " a leading multinational energy company" etc - suitable maybe for its own website but not for a general encyclopedia. Our page was deleted for being overly promotional. I believe it was because of the external links we added (facebook, youtube, etc) I would like to have the page restored so we can remove all the promotional links/content and update the page to fit the wiki guidelines. I hope we can have the page restored. Sorry about everything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. -OnlinepresenceHID (talk) 16:02, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

  •   Not done An article on this should be written in an encyclopedic style. It sounds as if you are connected with the organisation. In that case it is best to leave it for some one else to write. I find the article that you wrote is full of press release type language that immediately give the impression that it was a promotion. "minimizes total cost of ownership", "number one priority", "satisfaction", "used by Fortune 500", "exceptionally", and "enhance" are some of the many terms flagging this as an advertisement. For an encyclopedia article we do not want to know how happy the users of the product are, but instead information such as when did the company start, history, location, finance structure, executives, notable products, embarrassing news should appear. SkyCraft Airplanes

reasoning -Carleverett (talk) 17:52, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Hello Whispering!

Were you able to look at my last Talk post on this page? The notability of this aircraft has been verified by several highly respected, independent sources in the Aviation industry. The price point and hourly operational cost are the lowest in the industry today, and it also happens to be the first single seat aircraft to apply for S-LSA certification ever. Here are just of few of the sources:

http://www.flyingmag.com/aircraft/lsasport/skycraft-sd-1-minisport-lsa-flies-12-hour

http://www.aopa.org/News-and-Video/All-News/2013/August/2/SkyCraft-expects-September-certification-for-SD-1-LSA.aspx

http://www.generalaviationnews.com/2013/05/skycraft-begins-production-on-sd-1-minisport/

http://www.bydanjohnson.com/index.cfm?b=1

If the article is still not up to standard, at least take it out of deletion so I can get a chance to bolster it with more sources, information, and a more compelling case for its notability.

Talk:Aspies

reasoning -AspieNo1 (talk) 18:06, 21 August 2013 (UTC) The page Talk:Aspies was voted a keep - and is a source for people with Aspergers to talk about themselves ... Aspies the main term used for self-identfication. It ought to be used to build up sufficient reference to reinstate the original article, if content from the page Aspies, also be temperrarily udeleted and inserted in Talk: Aspies, and User talk:AspieNo1 reinstated we can get to work

If using link to talk:Aspies is against the rule, please help reinstate original Aspie page then

please reinstate word coinage cross-referencing Aspies usages of words, like Mundane to mainstream.

This page was a keep - please reinstate.

They were voted to keep, but was history shows instead redirected to Asperger syndrome.

If you check talk:asperger's syndrome, talk:Aspies and talk:Damon Matthew Wise you will see considerable discussion and discovery of evidence of pre-1999 references to such cultural lingo used by Aspies, and removing Aspie cultural. It should start coming out of talk pages and come into the public area.

Aspies around the world, who have now been using Aspies, Cousins, and Auties for around 20 years have no problem using their referenced lingo. It should not be classed as a subculture, to be hidden away, but identified as a unique cultural language and meaning.

If talk:Aspies is subculture and is not the right place, help cancel the redirection, reinstate Aspies article, and help edit from these diverse sources into a properly referenced compendium on Aspie culture, behaviour and lingo?

Please do the right thing and reinstate.

We are now, after 20 years talking, over 2000 references in google for aspies still out there, some of which are still existing pre-1999 redirection (when very few websites and groups are readily searchable.

It is no longer only used in closed groups and channels where Aspies hide from scorn and bullying by mundanes ... it is now an unique cultural identity, and thus ought to be in Wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AspieNo1 (talk • contribs) 16:44, 21 August 2013 (UTC) Please reinstate userpage User:AspieNo1

Thanks in advance ... lets get these issues fixed - if we can get original Aspies article and contents in sources referenced in Talk:aspies good enough standard to get included in a proprly resourced article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AspieNo1 (talk • contribs) 17:15, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

AspieNo1 (talk) 17:43, 21 August 2013 (UTC) Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --AspieNo1 (talk) 17:53, 21 August 2013 (UTC) Need to get pages undeleted first ... it is against he rules to vandalise an users page or remove a page voted to keep.

I understand the error made in linking the talk page after this was explained. Please reinstate and merge content from the original article Aspies on people self indentification and reference same.

Deliberately blocking people with disabilities unique language and expression and contents on same is prejudicial.

I am sure Aspies around the world will work in the talk page with admins to get it a well sourced and referenced piece worthy of Wikipedia!

Not done. The article said only that the society was named after William Martin Geldart (1870-1922) and "is an informal social society set up by the college's law undergraduates. The society currently comprises nineteen law undergraduates, seven in first year and six in second and third year respectively." There is no chance that a student society like this can meet Wikipedia's WP:Notability requirement to show significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources, see also Wikipedia:College and university article guidelines#Student life. John Rester Zodrow

reasoning -76.87.63.166 (talk) 00:17, 23 August 2013 (UTC) I did not submit the deleted article. It was apparently created from my single credit as director on the motion picture, "Big Guns." I would like to correctly submit my real page. As an example of who I am, I plan to list the following:

Novelist, Motion Picture Screenwriter, Director, Producer; Broadway Playwright.

In books, John RZ has written Bright Green Hell,(a thriller based on a true story about a girl who survives a plane crash in the Amazon jungle. (It was made into the movie Emerald Forest), In The Name Of The Father, (horror, International Best Seller, translated into Spanish by Elena Valenti as En El Nombre Del Padre, an adopted boy, obedient to a demon, rises from priest to pope), Vatican Gold, (thriller, based on a true story of the Vatican stealing gold from Jews in WWII), The Sins Of War (thriller, based on true story set in WWII, the Catholic church sends a priest to partner with gangster Lucky Luciano to stop German saboteurs), All Out, (a published, award winning stage play about a game show in which contestants do all sorts of degrading things to win $100,000. Pig Out! (a children's book about a boy who can't speak, but learns he can talk to animals who become his friends. This novel was recently nominated for a National Book Award.) Finally, in e-books, Scout, the true story revealing that the founder of the Boy Scouts was gay and how he relied on a famous American scout to help him learn about scouting. Knock Off Jesus a mystery that reveals that the Church stole nearly everything from a pagan god and in doing so, regrettably savaged the true nature of Jesus. And Back Door Down, a Tom Clancy type thriller about a dirty bomb smuggled into America and a young woman's desperate attempt to save her daughter.

On the stage, Mr. RZ opened on Broadway at the Minskoff theater, writing the book for the musical, Gottu Go Disco, which starred Irene Cara. His stage play ALL OUT is set to open in Italian in Milan, Italy in the spring of 2014.

For TV, John has written and produced All Out (Nominated by Writers Guild for Best Written Anthology), Kate Bliss And The Ticker Tape Kid, a 2 hour western comedy (ABC), Born Innocent , 2 hour, (CBS), The Devil's Triangle, 2 hour, (ABC), Man Against The Mob 2, hour, (NBC) which won the presigious 'Edgar' award and its sequel Man In Cement (NBC), 2 hour.

His theatricals include The Ultimate Thrill, Britt Ekland, (The Ultimate Chase), The Hunter, starring Steve McQueen, Sun Drops, starring Toshiro Mifune, edited by Akira Kurosawa. Mister RZ has completed producing, writing, and directing Big Guns, a full length Indy comedy about a wacky group of 60-75 year old senior softball players cheating to win a World Series--and dealing with the consequences.

Gina Macdonald writes of Mr. Zodrow in the Biographical Dictionary of Contemporary Catholic American Writing: "He questions the nature of man, of "sin," of reality; investigates man's relationship to his environment and to his fellows; and considers the savage behind the civilized facade--man at his most primitive, man at his most self sacrificing. His books engage in an interesting counterpoint--the cynical to the idealistic. He exposes the greed and corruption of the Church, and yet demonstrates the good and the true that endure. A sense of contradiction, of duality dominates his works: civilized men who torture and rape; savages who love and sacrifice themselves for others; a truly good man who seeks to do right but who is really the anti-Christ; a Church built on spiritual truths but controlled by financial, economic and political machinations.

Of his own works Zodrow remarks that he prefers stories in which characters "are tried by extreme circumstances" and "a complex psychological insight" results. Though exciting entertainment, with intriguing plots and perilous encounters, Zodrow's novels are tough-minded analyses of the dual nature of man: selfishness, greed, cruelty and lust; also heroism humanity, self sacrifice and love. They demonstrate the reality behind the facade--for good or for evil."

I humbly request another chance at getting the right info onto Wikipedia.
