editHi there. I was trying to delete an old version of my article by going section by section and deleting, and it seems I deleted my references although it still indicates the number of each reference in the body of the article. How can I recover this??! I made a mistake...please help. Thank you! Vesperms (talk) 01:40, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- The problem was caused by the old article's references section which remained. Two {{reflist}} templates interfere with each other, especially when the first comes before the actual references. I have fixed that, recovered some references that had gotten lost due to an overzealous bot, and did some copyediting in the process.
- I noticed that large parts of the article are not supported by references, especially La Luz' early life and education. If secondary sources for those sections cannot be found, they'd have to be shortened or removed.
- I also noticed that the draft at times isn't neutral in its language and uses peacock terms. For example, take this sentence:
- La Luz was highly inspired by Rexford Tugwell’s overall legacy as well as his book, The Stricken Land: A Story of Puerto Rico, which awakened his passion for progressive thinking and the pursuit working on behalf of the needy as opposed to the greedy.
- Firstly, the reference is Tugwell's book, which won't tell us anything about La Luz; in particular, it does not support this sentence. Secondly, I don't think anybody claims to "work on behalf of the greedy"... I removed several other examples, but I'd strongly advise checking the draft for such promotional language. hello
edithow long will it take to approve my article please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sam allen77 (talk • contribs) 17:08, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Your draft was declined on May 24. You have been notified on your talk page. Getting the article approved would be rather difficult if not impossible: It is about a product that doesn't yet exist (and Wikipedia is not a crystal ball), you probably have a conflict of interest, and there were no reliable sources to establish the subject's notability.
