08:46:09, 5 September 2016 review of submission by Pierre Lamarre

edit

I've written an article that has references from national newspapers and multiple online sources. I have amended the page countless times to meet Wikipedia's criteria. Please can someone tell me in clear english why this page is not notable enough? What more does it need?

@Pierre Lamarre: I've left a detailed comment on the draft. --Worldbruce (talk) 18:09, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So far I seem to have received mainly automated feedback. I am seeking clarification on what steps I should take to try and promote the CornCON page from draft status. Would it be sufficient if I posted more news coverage. This is a really significant event that probably involves thousands of hours of many individuals in the community that are working together. I myself have well over 150 hours this year invested- each of the speakers and there were many that were deleted from this article spent many hours preparing. WE need more cyber resources but it seems very hard to get a little stub that even references the event. Andresen.eric (talk) 19:59, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Andresen.eric: I wish you well with your conference, but Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion. It's not the right forum to "get the word out" about anything. Because coverage of the conference has been limited to the Quad Cities area, and it is unclear that the event has a significant lasting impact, it's unlikely to satisfy Wikipedia's inclusion criteria for events. --Worldbruce (talk) 00:35, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And note that although 1Wiki8Q5G7FviTHBac3dx8HhdNYwDVstR has a robotesque username, he is in fact a living breathing person. All AfC submissions are reviewed by human volunteers. Joe Roe (talk) 01:43, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, I do in fact live and breath! The CornCON looks to be a very cool event. But will need more varied media coverage before it meets the wikipedia criterias for stand-alone pages. There is no deadline here, so take your time. -- 1Wiki8........................... (talk) 06:16, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
