- Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
- The time period for musical composition in the US and music composed, sung and written during this time is erroneously referred to as folk music in other areas of wikipedia. There doesn't seem to be any other projects where the effort to improve content collaborating with other editors can take place. Barbara (WVS) (talk) 13:37, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion
editI am quite interested in beginning a WikiProject called 19th-century American Music to help coordinate the efforts of editors who would like to create or improve articles related to 19th-century American music. I realize a project is not a project without editors, but how do I go about inviting editors to join a project that doesn't exist yet? I have a number of editors who I believe would be delighted to be part of this project. Where do they show their support? I am drafting a project page now, but would really like the advice that you can provide. The Very Best of Regards,
