Description
editOne of the best-selling bands in the world with over 130 million albums sold. They have six albums that have sold over 10 million copies, and two that have sold over 20 million copies. Four of their singles hit number one on the Billboard 200, while many others have hit number-one in other countries in the world. The band is rated high-importance on WikiProject Rock and mid-importance on WikiProject Metal and WikiProject New Jersey. Bon Jovi has significant notability, both in the United States and in other nations.
Currently, no Bon Jovi articles are good or featured class. Additionally, as Bon Jovi has been considered both a hard rock and pop metal band throughout their career, an individual task force in either WikiProject would neglect their influence in the other one, and vice versa. A WikiProject Bon Jovi could cover both the band itself as well as the solo careers of its various members, and could help raise articles to GA or FA-class. - Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
- WikiProject Rock and Metal are too large, in my opinion, to improve this significantly, and New Jersey is more based on the location than any particular group. A taskforce would not do much better because it would have to be in either Rock or Metal, and Bon Jovi is considered both a hard rock and pop metal band. A WikiProject would allow editors with interests and links in both projects to converse more easily, and could improve Bon Jovi articles as well as spark editor interest to improve articles of other 80's hair metal bands.

- This significant band would greatly benefit from a group dedicated to improving related articles. The proposer is dedicated and passionate. Two ingredients essential for a wikiproject.– Lionel (talk) 23:35, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- It would be great to see some Hard Rock bands in a WikiProject Council. This will be fantastic. Jamcad01 (talk) 03:25, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I agree. A band of such success should have it's own project. Count me in. Savvi72 (talk) 09:13, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
