Featured news
- SummerSlam (2003) (link) is a current Featured Article candidate.
- December to Dismember (2006) (link) is currently under Featured Article review.
- 2008 WWE Draft (link). has been elevated to Featured List status.
- IWGP Tag Team Championship (link) is a current Featured List removal candidate.

Good article news
- Armageddon (2006) (link), Bad Blood (2003), Chyna, In Your House 2: The Lumberjacks, Juggernaut (wrestler) (link), Lockdown (2008) (link), No Mercy (2005), SummerSlam (1992) and The Great American Bash (2005) are currently Good article candidates.
- Sarah Stock (link) has been elevated to good article status.

Other project news
- Matt Sydal (link) is currently under Peer Review.
- A fact from SummerSlam (1992)‎, Armageddon (2003), and Bad Blood (2003) were featured on the Main Page in the Did you know? column on August 9, 11, and 14 respectively.
- Hell in a Cell has been proposed to be merged into Professional wrestling match types, the discussion can be found here.
- The guidelines for writing pay-per-view articles has been updated, see here. The new guidelines should be followed in order for an article to be nominated for Good article or Featured article status.
- The project has had a cleanup listing generated here. It details all the article within the project that are tagged as having problems. Please help to fix the problems outlined.

August 3, 1997 - Bret Hart defeated The Undertaker for the WWF Heavyweight championship.
August 4, 1997 - Lex Luger defeated Hulk Hogan to win the WCW Heavyweight title.
August 7, 2002 - Ron Killings defeated Ken Shamrock for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
August 8, 1963 - Verne Gagne defeated Fritz Von Erich for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship.
August 9, 1999 - Jackie Sato died of stomach cancer at age 41.
August 12, 1995 - Brad Armstrong defeated Buddy Landel for the Smokey Mountain Heavyweight Championship.
August 15, 2004 - Randy Orton defeated Chris Benoit to win the World Heavyweight Championship and become the youngest World Champion in WWE history.
August 16, 1992 - The Great Muta defeated Riki Chōshū for the IWGP Heavyweight title.

Recent News

At WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, Jenny McCarthy appeared on the television program to promote funding for the prevention of autism in children.
On August 3, World Wrestling Entertainment's official website announced that Ric Flair and the WWE would part ways.
On the August 4 edition of Raw, Batista and John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase to win the World Tag Team Championship; however, the following week DiBiase and Rhodes regained the titles.
Braden Wlker was released from WWE on August 7.
On August 8, WWE released Shannon Moore, Nick Patrick, James Curtis, Domino, Nunzio and Big Daddy V.
On August 10, Randy Orton reinjured his shoulder in a motorcycle accident.
Beer Money Inc (James Storm and Robert Roode) won the TNA World Tag Team Championship at Hard Justice, defeating the Latin American Xchange.
WWE released Cherry, Colin Delaney, Stevie Richards, The Highlanders and referee Wes Adams on August 15.
