Wikipedia:WikiProject User warnings/Testing/CorenSearchBot
CorenSearchBot is extremely important to Wikipedia and our interactions with inexperienced editors, due to the volume of pages it catches and the somewhat arcane concepts of copyright it must communicate to participants in the project.
The following are our theories to test with new template variations:
- No image in all new drafts. Previous tests have suggested that icons make little or no statistically significant difference in terms of edits or improvements in editing quality, but we continue to test this theory.
- Shorter, more pithy statements that focus on the actions we want editor to take, rather than an explanation of copyright in general. Very long messages suffer from TL;DR syndrome.
- A thank you. We can assume good faith with article authors for level 1 warnings.
- Items we want to include in all the new drafts: BASEPAGENAME (to speak to the user), page name (of copyvio), URL for comparison's sake, (probably) WP:COPYPASTE.
- Is delivered to user talk of author if most of or the entire page text is copy-pasted from another source.

Hello, WikiProject User warnings/Testing, and thank you for your contributions!
I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, [[:{{{page}}}]], is copied from another Wikipedia page, {{{url}}}. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:
- a link to the article you copied from
- the date you copied it
You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.
If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.
Thanks again for helping build the free encyclopedia!
