Students will be studying some of the ways in which the context and the form of an utterance interact to affect speaker's intended meaning beyond literal word meaning. Our main topics this term will include reference, deixis, implicature, presupposition, and speech acts.
Working to build up Wikipedia articles students will find, assess, cite, and contribute verifiable definitions and references in order to enhance wiki pages on designated topics in pragmatics and linguistics.

- Introduction to the Wikipedia assignment
Welcome to your Wikipedia assignment's course timeline. This page guides you through the steps you'll need to complete for your Wikipedia assignment, with links to training modules and your classmates' work spaces. Start by doing the two training modules above. Make sure you are logged in to Wikipedia when you do them, so I'll be able to tell you've completed the training.
