The Summit preparations are being led by members of the Wikipedia Club Pune on the ground, who are playing a major part in various teams as well. Also part of various teams are members of the larger India WikiCommunity who have rugged it out for a few years and now share their experience in giving the hosts a welcome helping hand in this local Wiki-initiative in the country.
The committee features people of varying backgrounds, including professionals, students, individuals well connected with various institutions, attendees of past Wikimania's, and longtime Wikipedians.

Execution Team for Spoken Wikipedia
The Spoken Wikipedia Summit India, requires a dedicated team to execute its varied functions.
The purpose of the Spoken Wikipedia is multilateral. Therefore, the team will carry on its shoulders, an immense amount of responsibility and fortitude in order to perform the activities of this innovative project. The role of the team is to create India-related articles on Wikipedia and to have them recorded as audio files; both, being in native Indian languages.
Who can be a part of the team? Well, anyone who is passionate about Wikipedia and wishes to contribute to the Spoken Wikipedia project by creating and editing articles and/or by recording them in various Indian languages can join the team and coordinate with it. A minimum of two hours of dedicated work is required from each team member, per week.
The plan for the outreach program of Spoken Wikipedia is:
- Cellular phones - Recorded articles can be pre-loaded or downloaded on mobile devices which are used by almost everyone in the country. Just like music is added to a phone, these articles can be added or downloaded on the most simple gadget and be heard as many times and whenever convenient.
- Telephone lines - Just as we hear songs or cricket commentary or the news by dialing a number through any telephone line, we can make Wikipedia articles available through a similar service. Only, that the latter shall be a free service, unlike the other.
- Radio : Radio Channels will host special shows to 'read' out Wikipedia Articles.
- Community Radio,
- Commercial Radio,
- State-owned Radio
- Pre-loaded articles : Articles will be pre-loaded into Mobile Device along with default ringtones and settings.
- Download by request : Request SMS can be sent to download Article for free of cost.
