Hello Birdy0124! I realized that you also chose eukaryotic transcription for your unit 5 article assessment. I was wondering if you were also considering this as a high priority of the two articles you chose for our group to edit this semester. Just based on the fact that we have been taught about eukaryotic transcription all through are classes in undergrad, and there are so many text books and research articles on this topic, I believe this will be a great topic we can contribute richly to. I am totally with you if this is your number one choice. let me know your thoughts. Mtee87 (talk) 03:31, 11 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Mtee87! I agree with you about eukaryotic transcription. It's a great topic and my #1 choice. Let's proceed as such. Birdy0124 (talk) 08:22, 11 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hi Birdy0124, I went ahead to claim the page on our course page. I looked through everyone's assessment of the articles from last week and none of the groups had chosen eukaryotic transcription; which why I didn't bother to ask anyone from the other groups about working together on topic we chose. I would try and ask again on the talk page for the course to see if any other groups are interested in editing this with us. Mtee87 (talk) 22:54, 14 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Also how do you want us to go about the summary of the rationale for selecting the article? I was thinking I write my summary, and you can compile yours on this page, and one of us copies and pastes it under a heading Eukaryotic Transcription: Topic Rationale, on the project page. Hi Mtee87! Thanks for claiming that article. I think it is great we were able to decide on it so quickly. As you mentioned, there wasn't much competition for this topic. Transcription is essential to biological understanding (gene to protein) and a fundamental aspect of a lot of drug discovery and development (e.g., large molecules). Actually, there is even a whole conference dedicated to it at the Cold Spring Harbor Labs ("Mechanisms of Eukaryotic Transcription"). As for our rationale, if you can generate 100-150 words for selecting that article, I can complete the assignment by adding my comments and post before the deadline. Would that be acceptable to you? I can start writing my 100-150 words now. If you'd feel more comfortable the other way around, I can try to send my 100-150 words to you before the end of the day. But as I am on the West Coast, it might make sense for me to take the later shift.Birdy0124 (talk) 09:00, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
I also created the new section on our group page in preparation for the rationale. Birdy0124 (talk) 09:05, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks alot for the section creation. I have added my own spill to the section. Please feel free to edit as you wish or let me know if there is anything wrong with what I have written. Sincerely, Mtee87 (talk) 21:41, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
