soft drink

edit

Hi, shall we include Chaas and Rooh Afza in the section non alcoholic soft drinks. Regards :)--Omer123hussain (talk) 13:49, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Chaas is chaas. Chaas with sugar is lassi. Lassi with other stuff is other-stuff-lassi. And so on... §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 17:28, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Promo issues

I dont suggest, adding limca, maaza or thumsup. they are not Indian cuisine either. Suggesting to Remove even the Kingfisher as well. that is a really shitty beer. Nothing indian about it. anyway, WP:PROMO prevents such advertisements. Neembupani or Aamras is a valid replacement for these, MNC drinks. --DBigXray 12:46, 11 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Renaming templates

edit

Hello, back in 2013 we saw there was hardly any Indian-food PUA. That motivated to create a few PUAs related to Indian food, and we have a decent collection of PUA now. Now, in 2020, I feel we could have named the templates differently. Generally, the template naming convention is Template:Dish name . However, a) theoretically in future a dish may need its own template such as Dosa (as of now there is nothing), b) by naming it is also important to specify that it is a PUA template. So does it make sense to move templates from Template:Dosa to Template:PUA-Dosa (please suggest other naming convention) and so on? It means a lot of moving work though. Note as templates are substituted, I don't see things will be broken. Suggestions are welcome. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 08:43, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

I support this suggestion by Titodutta, there are hardly any Indian-food PUA and it would be one positive step ahead if we can create for Template:PUA-Rasgulla ( for Rasgulla ) and many other dishes which are now universally famous like Idly, Dholka. Gr8 suggestion. Jethwarp (talk) 07:41, 13 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Titodutta, g'day. Hope you are doing well. When I had commented on the section linked #India PUA, I had only quickly read what you had written, and liked the thought behind it, mainly how it was linked to food; I guess I was feeling hungry too :D :D On a more serious note, after reading what you have written a couple of times I am not too sure what you specifically mean and why? Do you mean moving all the separate food items on the page WP:INDPUA as given below? You just gave the example of Dosa. But this is what you essentially mean right, moving all of them?
  1. Template:Dosa to Template:PUA-Dosa
  2. Template:Dum Aloo to Template:PUA-Dum Aloo
  3. Template:Egg curry to Template:PUA-Egg curry
  4. Template:Gulab jamun to Template:PUA-Gulab jamun
  5. Template:Gajar Ka Halwa to Template:PUA-Gajar Ka Halwa
  6. Template:Idli to Template:PUA-Idli
  7. Template:Jalebi to Template:PUA-Jalebi
  8. Template:Keema to Template:PUA-Keema
  9. Template:Khichdi to Template:PUA-Khichdi
  10. Template:Makki di roti Sarson da saag to Template:PUA-Makki di roti Sarson da saag
  11. Template:Mitha Dahi to Template:PUA-Mitha Dahi
  12. Template:Mixed vegetable biryani to Template:PUA-Mixed vegetable biryani
  13. Template:Mutton Masala to Template:PUA-Mutton Masala
  14. etc etc etc
And essentially you want to add PUA to the title so that users in the future specifically know that it is a PUA. This renaming will be in addition to the page WP:INDPUA or the category Category:Food WikiLove templates under which these Indian cuisine templates have already been put and help us to identify they are WikiLove templates or PUA templates? Sorry for all the confusion. DTM (talk) 06:59, 18 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
DTM, yes, for 2 reasons: a) it clarifies that it is not about the cuisine, but it is a barnstar, b) there is a possibility now/in future a cuisine will have its own template. Biryani? Dosa? I am ok with both naming convention, however it is good to give a thought, and also have consistent naming convention. --Titodutta (talk) 23:40, 18 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
