Stub templates for Karnataka per district

I have created Stub templates for Karnataka per district after discussion at WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals

Please feel free to use them instead of {{Karnataka-geo-stub}} -- Tinu Cherian - 10:05, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

The discussion at WP:WSS was for templates, only allowing categories when there are 60 stubs (as is standard stub-sorting practice). Quite a few of these categories are undersized, and it is likely they will be upmerged at some point. Grutness...wha? 23:58, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Need material on Seringapatam fort

I'm preparing charts for a military museum and need material on Seringapatam fort. Can't believe that a fort so important to Indian history has been totally neglected in WP (not even mentioned in Seringapatam article). I need text, images and plans (I know I'm asking for the moon! :-) ). Can anyone help?

Coordinators' working group

Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.

All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 05:46, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Message sent by User:Addbot to all active wiki projects per request, Comments on the message and bot are welcome here.

Thanks. — Headbomb {ταλκκοντριβς – WP Physics} 09:19, 15 March, 2009 (UTC)

Fellow Kannadigas

Hello Fellow Kannadigas, there is an error in the article on the Chitradurga Fort, where it is stated that the Nayakas were defeated by Hyder Ali in 1799. Hyder Ali died on December 7th 1782 at Chittoor, [1] What occured in 1799 was the killing at Srirangapatna of Tipu Sultan by the British, [2] To do this the British needed no-one less than Arthur Wellesley, later made Duke of Wellington for defeating Napoleon--who had contemptuously called him The Sepoy General--at Waterloo, commanding a mixture of British, German and Dutch troops (or Sepoys?!), [3] It would be nice to include more about the Nayakas in the article on the Chitradurga Fort. Since the fortification is also very impressive anyone (or any Kannadiga) with knowledge of military architecture could amplify the article in that direction. --Ghatothgaja (talk) 03:39, 21 May 2009 (UTC) Hi. I am new to WikiProject Karnataka. I may not contribute much to this section. But I am very proud of Kannada language and kannada script. thanks. -Obba Kannadiga. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.229.102.206 (talk) 04:05, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Following the Mailing list discussion that we had, here's a call for an informal meetup of Bangalore Wikipedians soon. Please see Wikipedia:Meetup/Bangalore/Bangalore3 -- Tinu Cherian - 09:46, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Karnataka Flag to be removed

The Flag of Karnataka, shown on the main page of WikiProject Karnataka, has to be removed because it is not necessary and is not official. user:MikeLynch 11:52, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
