Participation

edit

Sorry, I'm only able to review a few articles. I'm also coordinating the October wikification drive, so I don't have a lot of time here. Good work on your GAs, though, Sturm (is it okay I call you that?). WikiCopter (radiosortiesimagesshot down) 22:07, 4 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Any and all reviews are welcome. Do as many or as few as you find you have time for. And Sturm is fine; it's just a nickname.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 22:28, 4 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Other type of articles

edit

Can we review military-related articles in other History categories on the GAN page? I'd like to review Kronan (ship), which was a Swedish warship in the 17th Century. Would that count under the rules of the contest? Skinny87 (talk) 14:15, 6 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Absolutely, provided that it's tagged as a MilHist article. Which that one would certainly qualify for, if it doesn't have one already.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 14:33, 6 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Announced

edit

Hi, I think this has come around a month to late for myself almost reviewed out but will do some when able. On another point I did see the discussion around starting this up but has it been announced that it had started ? If so must have missed it. --Jim Sweeney (talk) 09:35, 10 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Jim, yes this was announced on the main talk page on 1 October ([1]) but I think it got missed due to other posts appearing on the watchlist. I also missed the announcement and only found it when I went looking for it. I will post some reminders. AustralianRupert (talk) 11:07, 10 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Shortage

edit

Dare I say it but apart from Sturm's conveyor belt of article that would put Ford to shame, their is a shortage of MILHIST articles for assessment. --Jim Sweeney (talk) 08:53, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have put one up. Its not a ship. AustralianRupert (talk) 10:40, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Conveyor belt, the very idea! It's an assembly line, I tell you, written by my cast of elves in the basement. <heard in the background, the sound of a whip cracking. "Oy! You lot better get back to work; they're getting cranky out there for lack of product! And the gov'nor's not best pleased."> --Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 13:39, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Let me remind everybody that any GAN with a MilHist tag is eligible so there may be some articles listed in other sections that could be reviewed. I thought that there would be 80-120 articles reviewed during the month, but I certainly didn't expect that so many would have been done so quickly.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 13:39, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Elf labour, now why didn't I think of that? :-) Seriously, though, I'd like to say thanks so far to all those who have made this drive successful. Of course, there's still time to go, but the number of reviews undertaken is very impressive. Well done and apologies for not being able to contribute to the same level. Cheers. Assembly line. Seriously? I need help with the start-class South Dakota battleship articles. Could you lend me some? I live in Washington State. WikiCopter (radiosortiesimagesshot down) 23:47, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I think you'll have to find your own elves; mine are rather busy at the moment.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 23:54, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh, that's too bad. Can you lend them to me after the Cup, during the 15 days before the next one? WikiCopter (radiosortiesimagesshot down) 23:14, 15 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
This won't be a monthly thing. We'll run the next one sometime after the backlog gets over 40 articles again, I expect.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 23:58, 15 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I meant before the next WikiCup. WikiCopter (radiosortiesimagesshot down) 00:16, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'll not be participating in the next Cup, I don't think, and I'll set my elves free. After all they were only indentured for the length of the Cup.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 00:26, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Don't set them free, not yet. WAIT!!! mail them in a giant cage to me. I need them! WikiCopter (radiosortiesimagesshot down) 00:30, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
