Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Basketball Association/What merits inclusion in an infobox

Existing NBASTYLE

edit

My recommendation is to harmonize this with the exsting WP:NBASTYLE, acknowledging that we already have project standards about what to include. It seems this essay can co-exist to expand on criteria of what might be suitable to add to the list.

WP:NBAHIGHLIGHTS has the current guidance: This is not necessarily an exhaustive list. MOS:INFOBOX advises that "the purpose of an infobox: to summarize key facts in the article in which it appears. The less information it contains, the more effectively it serves that purpose, allowing readers to identify key facts at a glance." A good rule of thumb is to only list awards that would be expected to be mentioned in the lead if it were a featured article. Other awards less notable to the biography should instead be mentioned in the body of the article. Regards.—Bagumba (talk) 07:25, 31 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Added reference to WP:NBAHIGHLIGHTS. I'll update this essay a bit further soon to harmonize more tightly with the guidance in that essay. Thanks for pointing that out! -- ExParte talk 03:22, 1 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
