Proposed deletion of Music of Extremadura

edit

The article Music of Extremadura has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references found two published (gBooks) using the phrase "Music of Extremadura". Insufficient WP:RS to meet WP:V and WP:N

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Proposed deletion of Pak Tongjin (musician)

edit

The article Pak Tongjin (musician) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Long-term unreferenced biography of a living person. No sources found, nor any evidence to support claim to notability (which is repeated - also unsourced - at Music of Korea). He's not listed as "famous" in the Pansori article, nor at ko.wikipedia

CharlieDelta (talk) 14:07, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Latin American music styles as subcategory of American (US) music styles = or ≠ OK

edit

Hello! For a discussion by wikipedians on how to use the word "america" see here and here. I do ask this because there is this category: Category:American_styles_of_music, which does list the category of Latin American music styles as a subgenre, which i think is a mistake. Do you think it is okay, to remove the category Category:Latin_American_styles_of_music from this category Category:American_styles_of_music? Same question for Carrabean music. Thanks very much. -- 068129201223129O9598127 (talk) 18:40, 4 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, this is very interesting. I think it is valid to remove it, but I would suggest more specificity on the orginal Category:American_styles_of_music. Because Latin America is different I understand your thoughts on having it as a separate category as most of the music on the original cateogy involves music popular in the United States. ~~~~ Advancedlegalwriting (talk) 04:38, 20 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

"Australian rock" article needs a lot of help

edit

The "Australian rock" article needs a lot of help. The article is very inadequately sourced and suffers form sloppy writing. It covers a lot of breath and, no doubt, has the potential to become a great article. But, it needs the presence of skilled editors. Garagepunk66 (talk) 04:10, 7 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

National music?

edit

Isn't this title a bit biased - we don't call punk or heavy metal "Regional British music" (though we could), we don't call Jazz "regional American music" (again, though we could). I notice there isn't a Wikiproject "Folk music" - or "Classical folk music". Or maybe "Traditional folk music"? (The US is already covered by "Roots" music) Seraphim System (talk) 18:19, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

The title is just defining the area of interest for the project. IMO "National Music" means that one of those areas is music that has a pretty strong link to a specific country and is prevalent in at least most of that country. North8000 (talk) 18:39, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

edit

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
