All the Zelda CD-I games should be merged into one article

Hi, I had tagged a merge proposal for all Zelda CD-I games to be merged into one article which can be found here. However, this merge proposal was tagged in September 2007 and there were few comments on the talk page. So I decided to bring it up here. Magiciandude (talk) 01:17, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Navigational Templates

Recently I created Template:The Legend of Zelda in an effort to make a navigational table that covered the full range of Zelda articles on Wikipedia, effectively depreciating Template:Zelda, Template:Zelda games and Template:Zelda characters. Since then other users have indicated that I may have been too bold and should have gained a consensus before enacting the change. They hve also indicated that I should have either worked on the old template rather than creating the new one from scratch or at least linked the talk pages. The reason I created the new template rather than working on the current ones was that I was tring to incorporate elements I hadn't used before (see this version) and I didn't want to cause any disruption to something in active use (it took me a while to get it right before I had to simplify it). If there is indeed a consensus for the new template I'll link the page histories to the talk page and then see if it would be possible for an admin to merge all of the histories together. I'm sorry to have caused any trouble, I was trying to be bold not reckless and I genuinely think that a single template (the one I created or otherwise) is a better navigational solution that the three that existed previously (and now currently). I'm all for the change, provided we can move the talk/edit history somehow. The most important talk/edit history is template:Zelda games, as that was the main template. Not sure how you would keep the other stuff but the Zelda games template history/talk definitely needs to be moved to the new location. OK, there seems to be a consensus to use the new template. I'll link the old templates' history to the talk page of the new template and then try and get an admin to merge the page histories of the new template and Template:Zelda games. For now I'll move the two other templates (Template:Zelda and Template:Zelda characters) to wikiproject space to preserve their histories. Guest9999 (talk) 12:13, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm actually neutral to the decoration, but I think there should be a limit. Look for example at this template which IMO is way too much. The Prince (talk) 19:37, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Fixed members userboxes

I just thought I should drop you guys a quick line, I replaced 30 instances of the old userbox with the new one. Just in case anyone saw me poking around in their userpage. The edit summary was: replacing with proper userbox, Replaced: {{User:Scepia/UB/WPJ Zelda}} → {{WikiProject The Legend of Zelda series/Userbox}} using AWB. Weird Thing

For some reason, when I scroll the list of high quality zelda articles, the stars for the featured articles don't scroll with the rest of the box, and end up "floating" above the good articles. 142.166.242.245 (talk) 05:22, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Though I'm not involved in the LoZ project, I decided it would be most fair to bring this to the project's attention, as the people who work on the article are in my opinion the ones most qualified to vote in these deletion discussions. Changes to the WP:1.0 assessment scheme

As you may have heard, we at the Wikipedia 1.0 Editorial Team recently made some changes to the assessment scale, including the addition of a new level. The new description is available at WP:ASSESS.

• The new C-Class represents articles that are beyond the basic Start-Class, but which need additional references or cleanup to meet the standards for B-Class.
• The criteria for B-Class have been tightened up with the addition of a rubric, and are now more in line with the stricter standards already used at some projects.
• A-Class article reviews will now need more than one person, as described here.

Each WikiProject should already have a new C-Class category at Category:C-Class_articles. If your project elects not to use the new level, you can simply delete your WikiProject's C-Class category and clarify any amendments on your project's assessment/discussion pages. The bot is already finding and listing C-Class articles.

Adventures of Link map controversy

There's a dispute at Talk:Hyrule#Debunking the "Hyrule in Adventure of Link map" myth about whether the AoL link contains a LoZ map in the southwestern corner. Some text dumps contain quotes which indicating that Spectacle Rock and Death Mountain are in the southwestern corner of the AoL world map, however the text dumps are not reliable sources. Could someone who has the game confirm or refute the quote's authenticity? -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 06:05, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Media franchises

Dear WikiProject The Legend of Zelda series participants...WikiProject Media franchises needs some help from other projects which are similar. Media franchises' scope deals primarily with the coordination of articles within the hundreds if not thousands of media franchises which exist. Sometimes a franchise might just need color coordination of the various templates used; it could mean creating an article for the franchise as a jump off point for the children of it; or the creation of a new templating system for media franchise articles. The project primarily focuses on multimedia franchises. It would be great if some of this project's participants would come over and help the project get back on solid footing. Merge into WP:VG task force

From my observation, this WP is largely inactive, and despite the large number of editors who are a part of this project, many of them either haven't edited in quite some time or haven't edited a Zelda article in recent history. - A Link to the Past (talk) 17:53, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

I think, instead, that most of them know what needs to be done and are doing it, so there hasn't been need for discussion on this page. I wouldn't call the WP "dead", as editing on the various Zelda pages is still going strong.Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 19:42, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

To slightly further my point, what you said is exactly why becoming a task force would be a good idea. There is some amount of not-so-small bureaucracy involved with running a WikiProject, and that all goes away by becoming a task force, which leaves you, as you said you're already doing, to edit articles. :) --Izno (talk) 22:56, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia 0.7 is a collection of English Wikipedia articles due to be released on DVD, and available for free download, later this year. The Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team has made an automated selection of articles for Version 0.7.

Coordinators' working group

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on.
