History

edit

The Yugoslavian International Championships was a tennis tournament held in various locations in Yugoslavia. It was open to international competitors. Before the 1970s it was limited to amateur competitors. The tournament began in 1921. Among the overseas winners were Tony Mottram, Ramanathan Krishnan, Billy Knight, István Gulyás and Jan Kodeš. When the Grand Prixx circuit began in 1970, the event was not part of it, so it declined and the last event was held in 1977.
