Anogi (अनोगी)[3][4] located at 27°19'56.2"N 80°39'44.9"E[5] is a village in Machhrehta block of Misrikh tehsil in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It belongs to the Lucknow Division. As per 2009 stats, it is also a gram panchayat. The village pin code is 261403 and postal head office is Aurangabad (Sitapur).

Geography
editThe total geographical area of the entire village is 435.52 hectares with a total population of 3,326 peoples. There are about 626 houses in the village. It is located 31 KM south from district head quarters Sitapur, 13 KM from block Machhrehta, 18 km away from sub-district headquarter Misrikh (tehsildar office) and 70 KM from state capital Lucknow.
Kakori, Gangapur, Gopalpur, Ralamau and Sarosa are few of the nearby villages. Anogi is surrounded by Machhrehta Block towards North, Kasmanda Block towards East, Bharawan Block towards South and Misrikh Block towards west .
Sitapur, Sandila, Laharpur and Hardoi are the nearby Cities to Anogi village.[6]

Government and Politics
editKiran Bala Singh is currently the village Sarpanch (प्रधान) and Gaurav Mishra is the Panchayat Secretary (पंचायत सचिव). Praveen Singh is the most prominent political figure of the village, he served as the Block Head (ब्लॉक प्रमुख) of Machrehta Block in the year 2011 to 2016 from Samajwadi Party. In March, 2024 he joined Bharatiya Janata Party and continues to work along with Ashok Rawat, the current Parliament Member from Misrikh for the development and betterment of society.
Divisions of Anogi Village
editAnogi village is divided into two parts. One part is primarily composed of Thakurs, who are engaged in agriculture and business activities. This group also holds political influence within the village and the surrounding areas, playing a significant role in local governance and economic activities. Few figures namely are Praveen Singh ExBlock Pramukh, Machhrehta and Rana Pratap Singh husband of sarpanch Kiran Bala Singh.

editAccording to the 2011 Census, the total population of Anogi is 3,326, comprising 1,760 males and 1,566 females. This results in an average sex ratio of 890 females for every 1,000 males.
The population of children aged 0–6 years in Anogi is 493, which constitutes 15% of the total population. Among these children, 255 are boys and 238 are girls. The Child Sex Ratio, therefore, stands at 933 girls for every 1,000 boys, which is higher than the village's overall sex ratio of 890.
The literacy rate in Anogi is 69.6%, significantly higher than the overall literacy rate of 50.9% in the Sitapur district. Male literacy in the village is 83.65%, while female literacy is 53.77%.
In terms of social composition, Scheduled Castes (SC) make up 47.2% of Anogi's population, while there are no Scheduled Tribes (ST) reported in the village.
Majority in Anogi are followers of Hinduism, with Muslims forming the second largest majority. The town also has significant populations of Christians and Sikhs.
Out of total population, 1,380 were engaged in work activities. 61.4% of workers describe their work as Main Work (Employment or Earning more than 6 Months) while 38.6% were involved in Marginal activity providing livelihood for less than 6 months. Of 1,380 workers engaged in Main Work, 342 were cultivators (owner or co-owner) while 216 were Agricultural labourers.
