Hoppers is an upcoming American animated science fiction comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by Daniel Chong and produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle from a screenplay written by Jesse Andrews and Chong, the film stars the voices of Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, and Jon Hamm. It sees a young girl named Mabel being placed into the mind of a robotic beaver.
Chong began working on a new original film at Pixar in December 2020. The film was officially announced as Hoppers in August 2024, with Curda, Moynihan, and Hamm revealed as part of the cast. Andrews revealed he was writing the film with Chong shortly after.
Hoppers is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on March 6, 2026.
Plot
editThe story follows a young girl, Mabel, who can transfer her mind into a robot beaver with the goal of going undercover in the animal kingdom. She winds up befriending a regal beaver, King George, and uniting the animals to fight off the plans of a real estate developer.[1]

editIn December 2020, Daniel Chong revealed on X that he had returned to Pixar following the completion of Cartoon Network's We Bare Bears (2015–2019) and that he was working on an original feature film there.[3] At the D23 fan event in August 2024, Pixar's chief creative officer Pete Docter announced that Chong's film would be titled Hoppers.[4][1][5] Shortly after, Jesse Andrews revealed on his X account that he was writing the script with Chong.[6]
Casting
editWith the film's official announcement in August 2024, Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, and Jon Hamm were revealed to be part of the voice cast.[4][1][5]
Animation
editA rough cut of the film was done by August 2024, which was test screened at Pixar's facilities.[7]
Release
editHoppers is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on March 6, 2026.[8]
