Tribute to Melilla Modernism is a monument in the Spanish city of Melilla. It is located at the confluence of Reyes Católicos Avenue and Carlos Ramírez de Arellano Street, in the city's Modernist Expansion, and forms part of the Historic-Artistic Complex of the City of Melilla, a Bien de Interés Cultural.[1]

editMade by Carlos Baeza Torres for the Plaza del Comandante Benítez, as an ornamental fountain, vandalism destroyed its system, its walls being used as a bench and its hopper as a waste bin, especially by drunks until between March and May 2010 it was moved to the new roundabout built at the confluence of Reyes Católicos Avenue and Carlos Ramírez de Arellano Street.[2][3]
Description
editA pedestal gives way to a reticular steel mesh, which supports two cones joined at their vertex, in the shape of a pineapple, identical to those that finish the chamfers of the La Reconquista Department Store.[4]
