I felt the second paragraph under "The Scare" sections of this article had to be deleted.

"Those two punctured grapes, discovered on March 12 in a shipment unloaded from the cargo ship Almeria Star in Philadelphia, forced millions of Americans to ask themselves, however fleetingly, whether to take a risk by eating. That the fruit at the salad bar, the peach in Johnny's lunch box, the raspberries in the refrigerator, could be poisonous turned the world upside down. Could the stuff of vitamin C and Cézanne's still lifes be hazardous?"

This part of the article did not read like an objective piece of writing, but more like a section from a poorly written American Propaganda speech. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MLRojas (talkcontribs) 13:31, 26 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

This article was scandalously bad. In particular, it appears that the critical Engels report was not read, and it answers many questions. I did not have the time, but read it entirely (in Spanish, with some Google help as a double check). And, integrated critical findings of the Engels report, and attempted to summarize outstanding questions. Iopis (talk) 07:21, 15 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
