I would suggest '''Soldotna Airport mid-air collision''', since it occurred in the vicinity of the airport from which one aircraft departed. That is more relevant than the geographic feature, or geopolitical boundary. Also no need for a year unless there is more than one. Dhaluza (talk) 02:36, 21 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
If it happens when both aircraft are en route, then the geographic location is relevant. But if it happens in the vicinity of an airport when at least one aircraft is operating out of that airport, then the airport is the more relevant context. Dhaluza (talk) 00:25, 22 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
In instances where the media and popular culture haven't given an aviation accident a popular title (e.g. The Day The Music Died or Miracle on the Hudson), I think that the location should be as general and identifiable as possible—country first; state, province, or other major region second; and so on—only as specific as it needs to be to meet WP:CONCISE. The Centennial accident generated a host of location-based arguments that I won't rehash here (see that article's talk page), but I've already argued that it should be moved to 2021 Colorado mid-air collision, provided that no other notable mid-air happens in Colorado within the next 5 months!
