The intro paragraph seems good; I'll check the rest later, when I have more time. Abeg92contribs 10:06, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Production section

edit

The sentence in the first paragraph is a tad confusing; who is stating that quote and what is it about? I couldn't fix this, not knowing the details... -- Editor at Largetalk 19:10, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Copy-edit

edit

As requested, I ran the article through a copy-edit. There were a couple of things I couldn't fix, such as the following in the first paragraph:

Anathabhadram was originally to be directed by Sabu Cyril with actress Meera Jasmine in the lead, but a June 2004 a strike in the Malayalam film industry delayed production and Cyril later became busy with Shankar's film Anniyan. He said "Santosh asked me whether I had any problem in his doing the film. I said I was happy." Sivan's assistant Sunil Babu art directed the film for him.

Someone familiar with the film needs to fix that. Other than that, the article looks okay. If I missed anything, I apologize in advance. Raven23 17:26, 13 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have fixed the first paragraph in the production section. Take a look. Can someone help to tighten the plot section? It's too all over the place, and repeats stuff in a strange manner. Aditya Kabir 20:55, 13 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

GA review comments

edit

The article fails GA standards for 2 major reasons:

  • it has a "copyedit required" tag and the article does need lots of it
  • too many red-links. a couple of them is fine in GA but the article has atleast a dozen redlinks.

After these are fixed, please leave me a comment on my talk page before re-nom and i can give you a detailed review. --Kalyan 08:04, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

GA pass

edit

This article has addressed all the concerns of the previous GA nom. I feel that it meets all the [WP:WIAGA|good article criteria]]. One small fix is to add a period to the end of "K" in Manoj K. Jayan's name. Congratulations. T Rex | talk 10:26, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

GA review (see here for criteria)

Review in progress...

  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose):   b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
Lead: Please expand the lead with notable aspects of the plot, production, theme and release. See MOS:FILMS for more information about the lead and layout. I'll try to help. If the film is about the hunt for the magical jewel, it should say that in the lead. The lead has important information with sources that is not reflected in the body with sources instead. Remember, the lead is supposed to summarize the article. For example, the lead says that the film is based on the "award-winning novel...by Sunil Parameswaran...the first Malayalam language venture of director Indian director Santosh Sivan and Bengali model/actress Riya Sen", but this information is not in the body. In fact, the development assumes we already know who Parameswaran is, and does not introduce him to the reader. There needs to be an effort to tighten these things, such that the lead already summarizes the notable points made in the article. Also please read MOS:FILM#Lead_section. Avoid the use of "award-winning" phrases.
Plot: This looks good, but there are a few issues with the prose that need to be worked out. For example, what does this mean: "Chemban (Kalabhavan Mani), a blind martial arts expert, stands in Digambaran's hunt for the nagamanikyam. Stands in what, the way?
Reception: It says: "Pinakkamano became the top hit among Malayalam film songs in 2005. It also inspired director KJ Bose's Tanthra (2006) featuring actors Siddique and Shweta Menon" What does "it" refer to here? The song or the film?
Prose: Very rough and needs more work. Ask someone to help you copyedit.
  1. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references):   b (citations to reliable sources):   c (OR):
"Aparna Sindoor, the dance director of the film, uses Kathakali movements in particular, which has been an inspiration for major Indian films like director Shaji Karun's Vanaprastham (1999) and director Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Kalamandalam Ramankutty Nair (2005)." This appears to be WP:SYNTH, as there is no stated connection between this film, Kathakali movements, and the other films, and no references connecting them.
h2g2 is not the best source for a film article. In this instance, it does not even support the subject of the article. Remember, we need to use sources that are about this topic.
  2. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects):   b (focused):
Parts of the theme section might work better in a "development" subsection under production. Not enough about the adaptation of Parameswaran's work in the dev. section.
    Release section needs expansion.
  1. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
I'm not seeing any criticism of the film.
  2. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  3. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales):   b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
Beautiful images! I had to remove one because we already have two, one which is non-free. If you want to use the second non-free image, then you will need to actually talk about the "Pinakkanamano" sequence.
I've had to change this to no due to the nominator adding back a non-free image when a free equivalent already exists.
  1. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
Sadly, I'm going to have to fail this article because there are too many problems for it to pass right now, including serious issues with the prose, MOS:FILM issues, use of sources, lack of basic production information such as the adaptation, and problems with non-free image use. The nominator made a good effort to try and fix some issues, and significantly improved the lead section. With more work, I think this article could become a good article in the near future. With this goal in mind, I suggest that the nominator work closely with the Indian cinema task force to make this happen. Viriditas (talk) 12:20, 28 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Help!

edit

Apparently, Anandabhadram ran for 250 weeks in 15 centers, and grossed 49.9 lac rupees in 70 days. Can anyone substantiate these information? Aditya(talkcontribs) 04:51, 18 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Also, can someone provide with reliable information on Ananthabhadrasanam, the sequel to Anandabhadram? Aditya(talkcontribs) 04:52, 18 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
