Removed stub template from page

edit

I have removed the stub template from the article, as it is longer than a stub now. I do not wish to do an evaluation or assessment of its class, as i was the chief contributor to the uprgade, so i hope someone will assess it soon. cat Catherineyronwode 09:08, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Should the discussion of the OTHER benji be on this page? I've never seen a listing that includes detailed information about something different with the same name.

Movie list

edit

Other movies that are a part of a series have a list of the various films. Why is only one mention or linked? 70.108.61.186 (talk) 00:55, 6 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I added a filmography section similar to the one shown on the Muppets page. I'm not certain if these are all the movies/television shows, but it is a good list based on the fact that most have Wikipedia entries. Maybe a short summery of the films should be added? Definately more detail about the various dogs in the franchize should be put in. 70.108.61.186 (talk) 19:39, 6 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

What is a "shelter dog" - I have never heard of such a breed!203.184.41.226 (talk) 04:24, 20 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Benji Takes a Dive at Marineland

edit

I suggest "Benji Takes a Dive at Marineland" be added to the list of Benji appearances. IMDb has it listed as a TV Movie and it was circulated as a VHS movie. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.172.82.174 (talk) 16:35, 20 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Mixed breed dog?

edit

I'm pretty sure that's not a mutt... it's a Catalan sheepdog or at least a slight mix of one. -Rolypolyman (talk) 07:47, 18 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Reliable sources in the article say mixed breed. - SummerPhDv2.0 13:39, 18 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

"Benji" in italics in the phrase "Benji films" (repost)

edit

Note: As you can see from the edit notes, I originally posted this on the talk page for Joe Camp. I still maintain my apologies to him below. It felt wrong to add this to the help desk before posting it here. (Edit: Added link to Joe Camp's talk page, sorry not to do that at first.)

"Could anyone please tell me if it should be in italics in this context? It's not that way in this article (I added italics, then removed them) or in any of the others, but it is that way in the context of the phrase 'Benji series', as in the article List of dog trainers (though originally not in this article, though I fixed that one). (Edit: The word "Benji" is also in italics in the phrase 'Benji franchise' in the article Benji, though not in the phrase 'Benji film franchise'. Sorry for not discovering or remembering when I first posted.) (Edit: Added quotation marks to first usage of the word "Benji" in previous edit note. Sorry about that, too.) (Third edit: I should've brought this up in the talk page of the 'Benji' article, since it's the redirect page and the first result under the search term 'Benji films'. It also has a more active talk page – no offense to Joe Camp over this; sorry about that. Also sorry to be adding a third edit note.)"--Thylacine24 (talk) 13:14, 23 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Italics should be used only when the name is referring to the film, not the character or the dog playing the character: "Benji the dog played the character Benji in the movie Benji." Similarly, "Mark Hamill played Luke Skywalker in the movie, Star Wars."
So, for your particular context, working backwards, we would refer to the "Star Wars film franchise", not the "Luke Skywalker film franchise" or the "Mark Hamill franchise". So, you are referring to the film, making it, the "Benji film franchise". - SummerPhDv2.0 14:49, 23 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for telling me. I'll get around to fixing that tomorrow. Also, could you please tell me if you wrote the post starting with the phrase "italics", and that wasn't just an unsigned comment? I'm sure the answer is yes, given the lack of an "unsigned comment" notice on it. I ask this because I have OCD and like to be sure.--Thylacine24 (talk) 02:33, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
By selecting the "history" tab at the top of this page, you can view individual edits to the page. I made the one and only edit between your edits at 13:14, 23 April 2020 and 02:33, 24 April 2020. - SummerPhDv2.0 03:38, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
SummerPhDv2.0: Thanks for telling me. I'd forgotten I'd even asked this, so sorry for my delay in responding.--Thylacine24 (talk) 13:15, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Probably a Cavachon

edit

There wasn't a name for this mix in the 1970s. I'm pretty sure Benji is what is today called a Cavachon. 57.135.233.22 (talk) 14:16, 4 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
