This article is entitled as a naval battle but there was no fighting according to the article as only the Spanish ships were armed. It should be deleted or merged with the Paquete de Maule article or with the articles about the Spanish ships involved. A capture of a merchant ship without conflict is not really worthy of it's own page.--$1LENCE D00600D (talk) 06:00, 11 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Paquete de Maule was armed with two artillery pieces. In addition, it was a ship of the Pervuian-Chilean fleet, not a merchantman. It was crewed by sailors of the Chilean fleet and carried aboard Chilean troops to reinforce the crews of the ships mentioned in the article. ElBufon (talk) 06:37, 11 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I can't find info in the Chilean and Peruvian sources, I think this ship was unarmed. And if you put this article in the Chincha islands war Why not add the ships captured by the Allies? I remember:
Odessa y Vascongadas captured by Maipú (steamboat) in Strait of Magellan
three Spanish transports off the coast of Brazil captured by Independence frigate and Huascar
Manuel brig captured by Independence frigate (Uruguay)
Petite Victoria corvette captured by Huáscar
and anothers merchantman, but not part of the Spanish navy (Spain did the same with Chilean-Peruvian merchant ships)--LoboGuardian (talk) 04:37, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
All that stuff could be added into wiki, say under a page titled "Naval operations of the Chincha Island War".--$1LENCE D00600D (talk) 03:46, 27 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

This article needs to be deleted, there was no "action", it was not a naval battle and therefore is not notable. The two steamboats were unarmed and they didn't put up any resistance. Though there may have been soldiers and navy sailors aboard the two ship they surrendered without conflict. I will check back again later.--$1LENCE D00600D (talk) 03:46, 27 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
