Neutrality issues

The POV and use of peacock words is quite serious, particularly in the later section. The problematic words are emboldened below. This type of writing is all too common unfortunately for Indian cinema related articles on wikipedia by fans.

Chintamani became one of the greatest hits of early Tamil cinema. Though Bhagavathar's first film Pavalakkodi had achieved considerable success, it is universally accepted that Chintamani was Bhagavathar's first mega-hit which made him a "superstar". The gramophone discs of Chintamani were also popular though M.K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar did not sing the songs that were featured in them as he was not under contract with Saraswathi Stores which produced the records. Instead, the songs were sung by Thuraiyur Rajagopala Sarma.[4]

Chintamani also marked the debut in Tamil for Kannada actress Aswathamma who played the title role. Aswathamma acted in one more Tamil movie before her untimely death in 1939 due to tuberculosis. [4]

Meanwhile, Chintamani was a remarkable success. With the profits obtained from the movie, the owners of Rayal Talkies constructed a theatre in Madurai and named it Chintamani.[4][1] The famous Tamil writer Kalki wrote that the film has made such an impact on the viewers that the housewife would sing the song Mayaprapanchattil from the movie while preparing coffee in the morning and her husband would sing Rathey unakku kobam in order to please his sweetheart.[4]

Chintamani continues to inspire Sinhala film music to this day.

I had used the term "superstar" because M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar is regarded as the first "superstar of Tamil cinema" and this film was one of his first grand successes. That is the reason why I had specified the term within quotes. I don't think it is a peacock term. I could very well prove it that he was regarded as the "first superstar of Tamuil cinema".Thanks-RavichandarMy coffee shop 11:33, 18 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

The first major star or major film is fine. "Super" star and "grand success" is not Blofeld of SPECTRE (talk) 15:02, 18 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

In all these articles, he is referred to s the "first superstar of Tamil cinema"
And these are articles by Randor Guy calling him the "first superstar" Just make a "Ctrl+F" search and you will find it.

It is a title accorded to him. I am not indulging in praise of M.K. T. or anything of that sort, but this is a generally accepted title of his. You see, if I were to mention that the Duke of Wellington is called "the Iron Duke" you cannot point it out as a peacock term, right. Similarly, M. K. Gandhi is known as "Mahatma". If I were to regard such a term as POV, then the article on Mahatma Gandhi would be having an NPOV tag on top of it. As for "grand success", let me look into it. :-) -RavichandarMy coffee shop 18:58, 18 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
