Incorrect claim regarding Valeria's name
editThe Characters section claims that Valeria's name is never spoken in the movie, but in fact in the scene following her cremation Conan states how the "Spring Wind blows for Valeria" while discussing her death. I do not have access to the book which is cited as a source for the claim, but anyone can watch the movie and hear this line. I have edited the article to change this claim, but perhaps someone who has the book can clarify what was said in the book (perhaps that the initial scene of her self-introduction was cut) and re-add that without the mistake? - I just watched that scene and Conan does not say any such line. I also searched the subtitle text for "Valeria" and can confirm her name does not appear in any dialogue. The initial claim of the article is correct. Phediuk (talk) 19:53, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
Edit War - Category:Wizards in film
editI noticed there is an edit war burgeoning over whether or not to include this film in Category:Wizards in film. The main antagonist is Thulsa Doom is an undead wizard. A major supporting character is the Wizard of the Mounds. It's pretty clear to me that it qualifies. I'm not going to participate in the edit war, but do the participants need to talk about the disagreement? DFS (talk) 20:30, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
Cast?
editwhy does this article not have a cast section?? 177.227.42.203 (talk) 07:10, 10 December 2022 (UTC)
- I was wondering the same thing. After a short investigation, I found a partial listing hidden away in a subsection of Production, namely at Conan the Barbarian (1982 film) § Casting. Apparently, and interestingly, this (featured) article having a detailed Production section makes it lack a (more complete) cast list under the regular Cast heading in such sections' regular location. In other words, in this regard, this article is non-consistent with the majority of film articles. Which, in my opinion, decreases its usability (user-friendliness). The lack of a Cast section has been discussed before, particularly here. I'm fairly certain that the main reason the cast listing has been tucked away in the section that discusses the casting is that the article looks prettier without a regular Cast section. In other words, form over function. Unfortunately, its form interferes with its purpose, which, in this case, is to inform the reader about the cast. A partial workaround could be to add a Cast section between the sections Plot and Characters, with a notice that internally links to the aforelinked casting section. However, that will never happen, because, again, without the section the article looks prettier. --2001:1C06:19CA:D600:B2AB:331A:57C3:DC3A (talk) 13:14, 10 September 2023 (UTC)
This article has recently come through AfC review. Because it may make more sense to be dealt with on this article, I'm pointing it out here in case any interested editors want to start a merge/AfD discussion. -- asilvering (talk) 19:06, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
