we found one in our garden, close to the pond on the sloping rockery. WUSTL Behavioral Ecology

As part of my behavioral ecology class, I have done some major work on this page. I added many sections to thoroughly expand the information available about this moth. I also added citations to the sections that were missing proper references (i.e. "Subspecies"). If you have any suggestions to further improve this page, please let me know! Peer Review for Behavioral Ecology class

Overall, the article was really great! It’s best feature for me was its wide breadth of topics covered, clearly seen in the extensive outline box. However, here are a few ways to improve this article. Although the use of hyperlinks was very good, I added a few more throughout the article for even more clarity (i.e. words such as palearctic realm, mimicry, proboscis, olfaction, etc.). Another type of edit I made was in regards to capitalization. The standard way of writing section headings is in sentence case on Wikipedia. I edited two section headings to reflect these guidelines. Although there is a variety of topics discussed, I would also consider inserting a section specifically on host plants. Although briefly mentioned in the egg subsection, it would be nice to learn more about the importance of host plants both as a food source as well as its potential role in oviposition. Lastly, I made some grammatical edits (such as missed commas, a few spelling errors, and incorrect subject-verb agreement) and rearranged the structure of a few sentences to make the sentence flow better. Hi! I thought the article was very well-researched and interesting. I made some changes to the article so that it had a better flow and was more intriguing to readers. I linked to appropriate references and italicized some scientific names. I also deleted the separation between “Defensive posture” and “Eyespots”, which I don't really think you needed. I was also thinking that you could consider combining “Visual cues” with “Vision”, since they cover the same topic. Finally, I added a paragraph in the lead section about its visual and hovering capabilities, since they are unique to the species. Really awesome job. Engelde (talk) 02:50, 1 November 2017 (UTC)

Hello! I think this article has a pretty good specificity of information provided as well as beautiful images. I deleted a few sentences that were not relevant to the moth, nor constructive to the overall article (there were a few sentences on the adaptations of other insects, and a sentence on the average brain size of insects that was not relevant to the section writing on adaptations). I then added in a few more facts and it’s appropriate resource on the hovering abilities of the moth, which is essential for obtaining nectar especially at night. Good job! Z.kelley —Preceding

Hi! I have a few more suggestions organizationally. I think the images in the life cycle section should be reorganized: they can either be split up between placing the images on the right or left side, or organized all on the bottom of that section in a gallery. In addition, I think “vision” should be a subsection under “physiology.”

This article was well done and covered a good range of information. I would suggest adding a bit more about predators and how different species attract the moth for prey.
