Hello, This article is currently almost completely unsourced. I think it would be more beneficial to remove a lot of the page because it has no citations. I'm not trying to control what is on the page, but the "work" section has no citations and should be removed. I think it could be replaced with the following, which I have complied using sources other than the company website and the most up to date information that is publicly available. == Current Programs == The Earth Journalism Network funds grants and fellowships for local reporters in over 70 countries. They also host workshops and information sessions to boost community knowledge of climate and environmental issues in the regions.[1] Current projects include:

I appreciate anyone who takes the time to look this over. I know COI editors are against the purpose of Wikipedia and trust me when I say I wouldn't be doing this if I wasn't required to. If you deny the request, please let me know how I can improve it. Thank you again. Theintern007 (talk) 16:27, 30 July 2019 (UTC) Reply 30-JUL-2019edit

COI Edit Request2 November 2019
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hello, I am proposing some extensive restructuring to this page to bring it up to Wikipedia standards and address the issues already tagged. Rather than list all the edits here, the full remake of the page can be viewed in my second sandbox at User:Theintern007/sandbox2 . I know there are a lot of sources so it may be a lot to ask one editor to look over, so I thank you in advance for looking over my request. If you reject the request, I would appreciate feedback on how to improve it for next time. Thank you, Theintern007 (talk) 16:22, 21 November 2019 (UTC)

COI Edit Request December 3 2019
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. The reviewer would like to request the editor with a COI attempt to discuss with editors engaged in the subject-area first. |
Hello, I am proposing some extensive restructuring to this page to bring it up to Wikipedia standards and address the issues already tagged. Rather than list all the edits here, the full remake of the page can be viewed in my second sandbox at User:Theintern007/sandbox2.
- Please state each specific desired change and accompanying reference in the form of verbatim statements which can then be added to the article (if approved) by the reviewer.
View at User:Theintern007/sandbox2
- The exact location where the desired claims are to be placed should be given.
View at User:Theintern007/sandbox2
- Exact, verbatim descriptions of any text and/or references to be removed should also be given.
I think all the current text in the article should be removed. The relevant sourced information in the current version has been incorporated into the new version in my sandbox. That which is unsourced is not.
- Reasons should be provided for each change.
The reason for this overhaul of the page is the flagged issue at the top of the article. By making the requested changes, I am addressing the two issues that I can fix-
This article needs additional citations for verification. (March 2013)
This article needs additional or more specific categories. (July 2019)
I have added more organization and categories, as well as sources, which the article really needed.
As for the "The topic of this article may not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines for companies and organizations. (March 2013)" template, I would argue that the revised article meets Wikipedia's definition of notability. I've obviously over-sourced the article in an attempt to be thorough, but there are several in depth articles about the company which establish its notability.
I know there are a lot of sources so it may be a lot to ask one editor to look over, so I thank you in advance for looking over my request. If you reject the request, I would appreciate feedback on how to improve it for next time. Thank you,

edit- Thank you for providing the requested information, it is much appreciated.
- In answer to the question of what text should be deleted, the COI editor indicated that all of the text in the current version of the article should be deleted. Based on that response, the request for a single neutral editor to carry out these revisions is declined — the reason being, that major changes involving the entirety of an article's text require the consensus of local editors.[1]
- To that end, the COI editor is asked to continue the conversation about these changes here, with local editors on the talk page. The use of the
{{request edit}}
template is not necessary for that discussion. - The COI editor may also wish to seek local editor consensus by visiting the talk pages of the WikiProjects which govern this article. Those projects are usually listed at the top of an article's talk page.

Instructions for reviewers—#1:
Do not insert major re-writes or controversial requests without clear consensus. When these are requested, ask the submitter to discuss the edits instead with regular contributors on the article's talk page. You can use {{Edit COI|D}}.'
- @Spintendo: It looks like you have been the only significant contributor since the SPA created the article years ago. Not sure how much additional input we can expect, given the complete silence since the July requests. Since you did a fair amount of trimming, do you have an opinion about whether the new proposed article would require similar trimming? The new version appears more comprehensive to me (I've only looked over it quickly), and I wouldn't mind working on some of the minutiae if I felt that it had a chance of remaining (i.e., being merged into the current article and passing the notability question mentioned somewhere earlier). —[AlanM1(talk)]— 18:55, 17 January 2020 (UTC)

- What I think should be changed: Hello, I would like to propose an update to the text under the introductory section and the Fellowships section of the article, as well as the addition of a Reach section. You can find my text proposal, as well as references, at User:Efz777/sandbox
- Why it should be changed:The proposed changes will help to provide more accurate and up to date information on the subject of this page, as well as help to address the issue of needing additional citations.

COI Edit Request September 2024

Hello, I am proposing that some additional text be added to this article.
- At the end of the current introductory section, that reads, "Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is an Internews and Internews Europe project. Internews is an international non-profit organization." I would propose adding the following text:
"Internews initially developed the Earth Journalism Network (EJN) in 2004 to enable journalists from low- and middle-income countries to cover the environment more effectively. EJN is now a global network working with reporters and media outlets in throughout the world. EJN trains journalists to cover a wide variety of issues, including climate change, biodiversity, the ocean, and One Health. EJN also works to establish networks of environmental journalists in countries where they do not exist and build their capacity where they do. This work is done through workshops and the development of training materials and by offering Fellowship programs, grants to media organizations, story stipends, and support for story production and distribution."
-I would propose a minor rewrite of the Fellowships section, which would begin by deleting the second sentence in this section; the sentence reads, "During these events, which have included several Conferences of the Parties (COPs) and Rio+20, journalists participate in activities and report on event developments for their local media outlets."
In place of this I would propose the addition of the following text:
"In particular, EJN’s Climate Change Media Partnership, currently run together with the Stanley Center for Peace and Security based in Muscatine, Iowa, has brought more than 500 journalists to the UNFCCC Conferences of the Parties (COPs) since 2007. CCMP is EJN’s most popular program, drawing more than 500 applications each year for only 20 spots. Applications typically open in May or June of each year, with final results announced in September.
EJN has also offered fellowships to other COPs, including the UN Convention on Biological Diversity and the UN Convention to Combat Desertification; other fellowships have included visits to the UN Ocean Conference, World Conservation Congress, World Water Forum, Global Environment Facility Assembly, among others."
- I apologize, I am having some difficulties adding my citations and references here, however my same proposed text edits and corresponding citations and references can be found at User:Efz777/sandbox
- The above mentioned edits to this article will allow for greater and up to date information on the work carried out by Earth Journalism Network, as well as provide additional citations for the article.
Thank you!
