Former good article nomineeElliot Rodger was a Social sciences and society good articles nominee, but did not meet the good article criteria at the time. There may be suggestions below for improving the article. Once these issues have been addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake.

List of Victims?

[edit]

Is there any consensus for keeping the list of victims on this page? I'd say that (if at all) it's better suited for the page on the attacks themselves, not the one for Elliot. It feels a bit inappropriate given it reads as a memorial (see WP:MEMORIAL). Especially given the extra info on them other than their birth date/age. It's generally pretty rare for us to list them, especially if the victims lack their own particular notability/articles.

How is it a memorial when it just mentions when they were born and what they majored in at school? This makes no sense at all, but if people agree that they should only be mentioned in the attacks page I will remove it from the Rodger article. My concern with a "memorial" was mostly with the sources of the section being focused on memorials/obituaries/honoring the specific victims. Information on victims is generally, in most sources or otherwise, written as memorial or in honor of them (not that this may have been your intent. Victims themselves are also non-notable. The victims, individually, are not covered enough to have their own articles. Since Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, victims' names and majors may not be necessary for encyclopedic value. In my opinion, the names and majors don't particularly add much to the article, especially not Elliot's himself. Two women and four men works. I'm willing to try finding consensus for the Isla Vista attacks article itself, but here I doubt it's suitable.
(I hope I don't sound mean or abrasive. I tend to be a bit blunt with the way I communicate and I don't mean to be rude in any way. Just want this article to be at its best)
Much love, rock on!

MajorImprovements Stop removing the attacks section without consensus. Zero Contradictions provided the same reason, which is very, very suspicious, and your account is only four days old. Carnival of Lights (talk) 00:16, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I don't know who that person is. And I removed the section discussing the victims, since it is not appropriate to be included on the biography of Rodger. It should only be included on Isla Vista attacks. Let's see what other editors think. MajorImprovements (talk) 00:20, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
User:Ponyo, you have previously blocked this person for similar reasons. Please investigate this editor. MajorImprovements (talk) 00:23, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I wasn't blocked for this; it was for uploading and adding low-quality photos. Get your facts right. Carnival of Lights (talk) 00:30, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
And now you're making low-quality edits and insulting other editors. MajorImprovements (talk) 00:35, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Edit: I was mistaken. I thought this editor removed the whole attack page, but only removed the victims part. But we already had a discussion above taking place, and you decided to remove it anyway. Also, how is it "insulting" and "low-quality edits" when wanting other editors for their opinions? This usually happens when we can't agree on something. Carnival of Lights (talk) 00:37, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Like I said, let's see what other editors think—since there seems to be a disagreement between the two of us. MajorImprovements (talk) 00:38, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to add some info to the "Legacy" Section.

In 2015, one year after Elliot Rodger's death, an account by the name of "ElliotSupremeLady" frequented through 4chan and tumblr claiming to have fallen in love with Rodger--and that if she had met him in time, they would have been together. ElliotSupremeLady (or ESL) is one year younger that Rodger, and happens to be the kind of woman he idolized, attractive with blonde hair blue eyes. She has an online following and often posts videos on Tiktok paying tribute to her husband, wearing his clothes, astrology, and that they're "twin flames" and soulmates. ElliotSupremeLady has been vocal on twitter, tiktok and tumblr about her condemnation of Rodger's actions:

"It wasn’t true crime that led me to Elliot. It was actually a countdown video about YouTubers who had passed away. That’s when I saw him. He was the most beautiful man I’d ever seen. When I found out who he was, my heart dropped. But the more I learned about him as a person, the more I fell for him. I fell in love with him for who he was, not for what happened. Honestly, I don’t even like to hear about it. I just wish I could have been with him in life, before all of this, when things were different. Unfortunately, Elliot is attached to that whole topic, reduced to his crimes. But that's not how I see him... I understand what happened, but I don’t study it. That’s not what I do. I love Elliot, but that love doesn’t mean I don’t recognize the tragedy of what happened. People died, and that should never be forgotten... I would’ve loved him before any of this, and I truly wish none of it happened. The truth is, this is just the only way I know him. And I really hate that he's linked to all this true crime and incel stuff. I try to separate him, and myself, from it as much as possible. Because if I had been with him right now, none of this would even be in my mind."[1]

ElliotSupremeLady has been devoted to Elliot since 2016, and is still devoted to him to this day. [2] YazzieWikkie (talk) 02:45, 15 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
