Season 2

Is there a reason why she hasn't been in the last 2 episodes? JDDJS (talk) 03:59, 18 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Spouse

FOR THE LAST TIME, CARL IS NOT EMMA'S SPOUSE. THEY GOT AN ANNULMENT. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.220.56.10 (talk) 19:46, 11 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

For (I hope) the last time, Carl is said to have asked for an annulment, but there is no mention on the show as to whether the annulment has been granted. But this fact is irrelevant to Emma's Wikipedia listing: the infobox is supposed to reflect the entire run of the show, not just a present-day snapshot: they were married for several months, so Carl will forever be listed as her spouse. If she marries again, there will be two spouses listed. This is the same as the "significant others" heading: all the truly significant relationships are listed on the character pages. It was correct.--Johnny 42 (talk) 18:41, 12 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Johnny, I don't see any edits on this article under your username. Which edit do you mean?
In case yours was under an IP changing Emma's marital status in the infobox, the rule for character articles is that spouses during the time of the show are listed regardless of marital status as of the most recent show, and that current status is not listed. The details should be included in the storylines and relationships sections. So whether Emma has gotten an annulment or not—and while we know Carl has asked for one, it has never been stated on the show whether it has been granted—Carl will always be listed as a spouse for this article, just like Ken Tanaka will always be listed as a significant other. And yes, this means people can have more than one spouse listed, as odd as that may seem. Hope this answers your question! BlueMoonset (talk) 19:12, 12 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Character

edit

How can this character still be considered to be on Glee when the actress has moved on to be a regular on a different television series? Liz Read! Talk! 21:36, 28 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Liz, because she appeared two weeks ago in a new episode, and it is always possible she will appear again in the future—she has already filmed episodes in the current season while being a regular on The Millers. Besides, the character will always have been on Glee—those episodes exist, even if it turns out that there are no appearances. It's like the infobox, which lists both Carl and Will as spouses: she was married to both of the characters at different points during the show's run. Character articles don't disappear when a character is written off of a program, any more than they disappear when the program itself ends. They still exist on DVDs and on-demand video, it's just that they cease to change. Even then, subsequent critical commentary can shed new light on characterization or reception, so the article could continue to grow. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:29, 28 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks very much for the information, BlueMoonset, you answered my question. Since it has moved to Thursday nights, I don't regularly watch the program any more. Liz Read! Talk! 22:36, 28 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
