The "ruin heap"?
editA tell is very simply a mound in Arabic. Now of course, in archaeology, a tell is specifically, a man-made mound resulting from centuries of occupation, but I don't think the name was meant to refer to that. Deleting uncited information
editI'm going to delete a bunch of information in this page that have absolutely no citations, and therefore no reason to believe that they appear in the scholarly literature or are not original research.
