I Suggest that Fifth Harmony be Semi protected. The reson is because Fifth Harmony keeps being redirected to List of The X Factor finalists (U.S. season 2), Fifth Harmony should have it's own page because it consists of a group on television and had music on ITunes. Fifth Harmony have appeaared on The X Factor US which is a show and that is work. I only suggest Move Protection and please put Proptection in action as soon as possible before List of The X Factor finalists (U.S. season 2) moves it again.

This page should stay as a redirect - as far as I am aware, none of the contestants are notable outside of The X Factor. Having music available on iTunes doesn't make them notable. –anemoneprojectors17:54, 10 November 2012 (UTC)
Normani Hamilton (is not married) was in Book which is a short film. User:Sweden Rocks hard
Does that make the entire band notable? No. It probably doesn't even make her notable. –anemoneprojectors18:21, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

That doesn't make them notable either. –anemoneprojectors18:46, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

By the end of the show, half of the contestants will have there own page (like last season). The page has many references and may things to prove it's all true. They've made it to the Final 8 and have developed a small fan base. Normani competes in many pagents, I suggest the page stay how it is. --96.19.127.9 (talk) 00:51, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

"Half" of the contestants will only have their own page if they become notable outside of The X Factor. That usually means releasing an album or single that charts somewhere, but could be that they go on to do acting or presenting, or even more reality TV shows. Making it to the final 8 and having fans doesn't make them notable outside of The X Factor. 8 acts are in the final 8, and they all have fans. The whole point of the list of finalists is so that they are included on Wikipedia even if they are not notable outside of The X Factor - and in most cases, none of them are until long after the series ends. –anemoneprojectors15:07, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
I understand your concern however this article still needs to be intact we will keep this article about until many people prove me wrong by saying that the group Fifth Harmony should be a redirected article in addition to that going off on what AnemoneProjectors has to say about the article and what other auto-confirmed users have said I still find no reason why it should be deleted. User:2010srock
Carly Rose Sonenclar is the only contestant in the List of The X Factor finalists (U.S. season 2) that has a separate article to me that is unfair because what does she have to contribute in terms of notability that the other contestants such as Fifth Harmony have to offer? User:2010srock
Carly Rose was on Broadway (and was featured prominently on the soundtrack for Wonderland), has had a role on a notable television show (which wasn't a guest spot, either), has been in films, and has been performing in large venues for years. She is not comparable to Fifth Harmony, and her page existed long before Fifth Harmony was formed. She has had success before the X-Factor. No matter what happens to the Fifth Harmony wiki page, it has nothing to do with Carly Rose. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.161.227.119 (talk) 05:33, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Speaking of which yes there are some girls in the group that has been given notability and there are sources to prove that. Dinah-Jane Hansen and Normani Hamilton Have shown throughout the Web that they are proven to be notable. Hamilton has been competing in beauty patents and has won various competitions. Regardless of how you feel about this article she as of now is the most notable in the group and in the competition and needs to have an article regardless how famous the group is. Dinah-Jane Hansen has also receive some notability through singing at a young age. These girls are very talented, have a massive fan base, the second most popular viewed YouTube videos on the season behind Carly Rose Sonenclar and this article should stay alive. User:2010srock
You say "this article will stay intact until many people prove me wrong". I disagree - you should prove they are notable, not the other way around. The group are not notable because they did not exist before The X Factor and have done nothing outside of it. As a group. They are notable for one event. In which case, they should be covered in an article about the event - which they are in the list of finalists. Wikipedia:Notability states "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article or stand-alone list." They probably have received significant coverage, so they can be included, and they are included in a stand-alone list. A list of finalists. You mention Carly Rose Sonenclar - she has been in films, so she probably is notable for that, which is outside of The X Factornice job, so she has a stand-alone article. This is clearly far more notable than then band Fifth Harmony, who have only appeared as a band in The X Factor. You say that Normani Hamilton is notable for being in beauty pageants. To be honest, I don't know if that is something that is notable, but if you think it is, then perhaps Normani Hamilton should have a stand-alone article, but that doesn't mean that Fifth Harmony should. I don't think the singing that Dinah-Jane Hansen has done makes her notable. Finally, being talented, having a fan base and popular YouTube videos do not make them notable outside of The X Factor. So in conclusion: they should remain on the list, but if you think Normani Hamilton is notable outside of The X Factor and Fifth Harmony, then go ahead and create a page for her. –anemoneprojectors20:56, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
If you want me to prove that they are notable then fine I will prove that they are notable but please just stop it. You on e other hand won't even give me a chance to prove that all you do is delete my article and think they are not worthy or notable which in fact they are I just need time to prove that ? Just give me a chance I'm just now starting to develope their article with the help of other people. Going back to Normani Hamilton I don't think it's the right thing to do to create an article about her when she is in fact put into a group. Somewhere I believe she originally did have an article but got delete prior to being put into a group and being on the show. If you want me to prove that they are notable then at least give me a chance to do that instead of going ahead and deleting e page yourself. User:2010srock

This article should be redirected as the group are only notable for being on The X Factor at the moment. Fifth Harmony didn't exist before the show. Are there any legitimate reasons for this article remaining, other then they have a lot of fans? - JuneGloom Talk 21:40, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
As a group they are only notable for being on the show but each member as their own notability and yes over time I will find sources why this group is notable and should have an article. As far as the redirected thing is concerned I don't really think it's necessary until things are truly proven. User:2010srock
You can't find sources to prove they are notable outside of The X Factor when they're not. Why do you think they should have an article? This is not what happens. I've been editing X Factor articles for many years - the UK one is 9 years old, so we have plenty of precendent. You need to accept this. We have a list for the finalists, and that is all that is needed until someone goes on to become notable after the series. You admit that "As a group they are only notable for being on the show", so therefore they do not require a stand-alone article. –anemoneprojectors09:15, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
This article should be redirected. The group are definitely not notable and almost all the information in the article is about their x factor appearance, which is included in other articles. The information is too fansite'ish for wikipeida too, things like "Brooke is the oldest and shortest member of the group." are not important, and details like "Brooke has been compared to recording artist, Nicole Scherzinger." - by who? it could have been anyone from that statement, unless it is somebody noteworthy then it should not be mentioned in the article, it is too vague. There should not be a section about them post x factor when they are still in the competition. I don't see how the ammount of views on youtube is of any note either, unless it was substantial enough to be commented on by an actual source other than youtube itself then it should not be included. The sources need formatting too and the article could do with a copyedit if it stays, it is badly written in places. D4nnyw14 (talk) 18:21, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
I feel that this is a POV fork - WP:POVFORK or at least just a content fork - WP:CFORK. There are various issues with the article and fails notability outside the show.Maine12329 (talk) 06:03, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
I'm starting to see a consensus for redirecting the article. 2010srock has even admitted that the group are only notable for being on the show. If you think one of the singers would pass WP:N and WP:1E, I would suggest working on a draft in your userspace and asking an experienced editor to check it over before moving it. - JuneGloom Talk 14:05, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
  • Keep. I think we have debated this issue enough and since they have now made it to the Top 6, I motion to retain this page as a separate page. Jaskemr (talk) 02:48, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
Making it to the top 6 still doesn't make them notable outside of The X Factor. One Direction, for example, are the biggest band on the planet right now. They came from The X Factor UK, and had a huge fanbase from that, and came third, but they didn't have a stand-alone article until long after their season ended and they released a single. –anemoneprojectors11:12, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

Another thing I noticed is that you feel as if you have more control over X Factor article's and that your opinion matters the most which in fact it doesn't? Your just a hater like all the others that oppose it and the only "real" reason why Carly Rose is the only contestant with an article is not because she's been in films and on broadway but because she is the most liked contestant on the X Factor. You might disagree with this but it's true! If that we're truly the case then we would also see Beatrice Miller and Diamond White with articles because clearly they have been in way more movies than she has. This is all not fair but its okay I'm allowing you to do what you want because like I said I'm done fighting a battle and just know that everyone does have input to say about X factor articles and their opinion's matter just as much as your does.

How so? A few weeks ago, yeah, they were just a group of singers on a show. Just yesterday though they won third place in said show, so that's pretty valid. And on top of that, Simon has more or less noted he's going to sign them. If none of that counts as "notable", then I don't know what does (especially since there are articles on here about less notable artists). HerroLink 01:48, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
They're notable, but still not notable outside of The X Factor. The fact they are notable means they are eligible for inclusion in Wikipedia - and they are, on List of The X Factor finalists (U.S. season 2) along with the rest of the contestants they are just as notable as. Recreating article

Camila Cabello is going solo after there 7/11 tour finishes and Flop Harmony are breaking up. This is sad because they still haven't been able to beat the most talented, amazing, hot and biggest girl group out there Little Mix who are bigger then 5H, Spice girls, destiny child, K-pop and TLC. WOW let's talk about Little Mix who still hold the record for the first group in history to win the whole x-factor just sad how not even 1D OR FH could do this.

Article is notable based on previous references and additional references that have emerged since the last AfD discussion.

This article has been redirected numerous times. I have not seen the previous articles, but came here to create a new article and saw that it was previously redirected. Based on the last AFD discussion, it looks like those wanting to delete or redirect the article are waiting for them to have a single or release their album while those looking to keep the article look like the same person using multiple accounts.

While redirecting the article may have seen like the perfect thing to do in the past, waiting for them to release a song or an album makes no sense as they have released numerous covers and there are bands that are notable for their covers. What this comes down to is WP:GNG. Is there significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent from the subject? Absolutely. There are 12 of them that I have included in the article. Please note that this does NOT include a list duplicate articles as you can find the same article syndicated with numerous other sources and each article should only be considered one time for purposes of establishing notability. --DaisyKitteyMEO (talk) 20:36, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

The AFD result should still stand and your version of the page is barely any different to how it was before the last AFD ended (in fact it had more references before, and fewer "citation needed" tags), so I suggest you try deletion review if you disagree with the result. In the meantime, please update the list entry if there's anything missing - it's why it's there. –anemoneprojectors08:02, 23 April 2013 (UTC)

new to this fifth harmony urgent suggestion

I'm new to this gig but my argument is that Fifth Harmony should not be protected if Jessica Sanchez, the runner up of American Idol which gets several times more viewership than where this girl band was from, isn't protected in her wiki page. Look up Jessica Sanchez and as an individual she has more over twice as many followers as the whole band of Fifth Harmony combined. In addition, Fifth Harmony isn't a group that has made it into the top mainstream groups and I would argue that the protective label does not do justice to all of those are more popular. Just because a few of their advocates/fans ask for a protected status does not mean that it actually constitutes one. I've done surveys where only s small percentage of teens have actually heard of Fifth Harmony and most are more familiar with Jessica Sanchez of American Idol. Personally, I mistook Fifth Harmony for the band that P Diddy made up with a few girls.

Unexplained removal of awards

I would like to know why the awards section is continuously being blanked. No reason has been provided in the edit summary. Sources are provided, and I can gather better (or more) sources if that is the problem. Thank you. TCMemoire 20:04, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Disregard; dispute has been resolved. See my talk page here for further information. The sources provided for the information given in the "Awards and nominations" section were not reliable enough and a few of them did not work; the awards themselves did not seem to meet notability guidelines. Perhaps other official awards should be added if they can be found and properly referenced. TCMemoire 06:59, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

I would like to change "The X Factor" from the beginning of the article to "The X Factor USA" since there is X Factor UK, and others and it is leaving out information when not mentioning which it is. Isaac2097 (talk) 10:08, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. Since the U.S. version is the primary topic, and was the original for this show, I'm disinclined to change the visual wording. I have however fixed the link to go directly to that article instead of the redirect. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 15:11, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

Suggestion For Additional Information

It has come to my attention that there has not been mention of Fifth Harmony's performance on The Today Show, in 2014. They preformed with the same song[9] (and several others) that they first sang in 2013, as mentioned in "2013: Better Together, concerts and covers". This should be mentioned either in their 2013 synopsis, in the second paragraph after the following statement; "The group performed the single for the first time on television on July 18, 2013, on the Today Show in New York City.", or it should be mentioned in their 2014 synopsis, along with further information on the groups' recent activities. Among recent activities, or perhaps additional information, it should be noted that the girl group has recently launched an official fan club, which was announced on their youtube channel[10] and can be accessed via their site, which is not mentioned in the page. I think it is reasonable to mention their website[11] as it hosts a great deal of their information, and serves as a interesting point. Please consider this when updating the page Magicaldaze (talk) 16:53, 11 July 2014 (UTC)

Cuban-American?

Is this an American girl group, or a Cuban-American girl group? Jsharpminor (talk) 05:58, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

The correct writers and producers of this song!

Written by Eric Frederic, Joe Spargur, Daniel Kyriakides, Gamal "Lunchmoney" Lewis, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, and Taylor Parks

Produced by Ricky Reed, Joe London, and Daylight

"Artistry" section seriously lacking in non-biased content

I was going to label the Artistry section with a Peacock message before I realized the article was semi-protected. The second paragraph, specifically, within the section is not at all objective, providing quotations directly from the artists' bios on their website ("an mature smoky voice"? "bluesy vocal style"? Really?). I just think this section needs attention, if it needs to exist as its own section at all. Objective, relevant information would perhaps be suitable within each artist's specific section beneath "Members". Ashleyscript (talk) 18:59, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

I agree with you that the latter part of the section is pretty much just fluff for the reasons given. Personally, I think the information about the voices should be removed removed per WP:BLPPRIMARY unless indpendent reliable sources can be found to support these interpretations, but for now I have added a {{BLP primary sources}} template to the section. Perhaps it will draw the attention of other edits who can furhter assess and rewrite as needed. - Marchjuly (talk) 03:57, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
