From the Originator

Why disabled courtesy lights?
editCan someone explain why the courtesy lights were disabled, per the car's specifications? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gilgamesh1372 (talk • contribs)
- Yes. Courtesy lights are routinely disabled on police vehicles because it allows the officer to open the door in the dark without a light coming on, which could give away his presence or illuminate him as a target for gunfire, to name just a couple reasons. ⇒ B.Rossow talkcontr [[Friday]], [[April 28]], [[2006]] @ 18:35 (UTC)

I can only just claim to start it. I think the folks over at SSPMustangs.org should do justice to the article and really help clean it up and add more to it. --293.xx.xxx.xx 08:51, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
GA on hold
editThis article will be put on hold (for 7 days) until these minor adjustments can be made :
- 1. Well written? Fail
- 2. Factually accurate? Fail
- 3. Broad in coverage? Fail
- 4. Neutral point of view? Fail
- 5. Article stability? Pass
- 6. Images? Pass
Additional comments :
- Article is too listy, almost all of it should be turned into prose. (See article Lancia Flaminia for an example)
- Having one or more citations for that : Nearly 15,000 of these special units were made from 1982 until their discontinuation in 1993 to over 60 law enforcement organizations and government agencies. Their roles ranged from general patrol to pursuit units, with some used in special duties like drug interdiction to academy training units. Several units were specially tasked to help land the Lockheed U2 Spyplane. would help the reader.
- If the lists present in Usage section can't be turned into prose, at least place the section after the other sections.
- Restoring Mustang SSPs have become a growing hobby as of late, with car clubs and websites devoted to the restoration of the law enforcement workhorse. happened when for as of late can't be used in a time-independent encyclopedia.
- All the paragraph starting with Restoring Mustang SSPs ... is not encyclopedic.
- Not enough citations for Distinct models.
- SSP in popular culture is uncyclopedic unless fully expanded and made a good section out of it.
