Current name for species

edit

It appears from the New Zealand Organisms Register that the current accepted name for this species is Heterocrossa maculosa (Philpott, 1927). I refer any other editors to Volume 9 of the Insects of Hawai where Zimmerman, on page 797 argues that the Heterocrassa genus should not be a synonym of Carposina as the genitalia in this genus are distinctive. This was accepted by Dugdale in Lepidoptera - annotated catalogue, and keys to family-group taxa as well as in the 2012 publication New Zealand Inventory of Biodiversity. Unless other editors have an objection I propose editing this article to reflect this.Ambrosia10 (talk) 02:50, 28 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
