Headlines
editHeadline for use. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 12:58, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Someone please put an actual plot summary in this, the current one is likely cut+pasted off of the movie website before it came out.FlashHawk4 (talk) 21:10, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
"adult" PG-13
editFound this in the lead section of the page. As noted when I made the edit, there is no source provided and it's a purely American point of view.
Here's the line that I cut:
- Despite its PG-13 rating, the film is aimed more towards an "adult" audience, as it contains more mature content (..Racism, violence, profanity, sexual content..) than most other PG-13 movies.
Did a 12 year old write the plot summary section?
editIt's really poorly written. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.104.131.240 (talk) 23:43, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
I agree. 74.169.188.146 (talk) 15:51, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Agreed. Someone missed class the day they taught compound sentences. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.203.186.94 (talk) 10:52, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
I redid the plot, but mostly just got rid of all the unnecessary details. I probably still missed some grammar errors. --Ted87 (talk) 22:24, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Cleanup tag
editI've added a cleanup tag, as the plot outline has slightly bad sentence structure.— Dædαlus Contribs 09:18, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Lead "because they are an interracially married couple"
editThis seems an unfair summary of the movie. That's undoubtably a contributor, but it didn't seem the main one: the main factor seems to be them having sex in the pool and his kids seeing it. Any objections to striking this? --Steven Fisher (talk) 05:42, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Kind of. This is the point of the movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by FlieGerFaUstMe262 (talk • contribs)
- It is the point of the film, Abel doesn't like the fact that they are an inter-racial couple, and says so on several occasions. If you didn't see that then you missed the point of the film. Darrenhusted (talk) 22:09, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- I really think you're both wrong that it's the whole point. There's multiple causes, though that's probably the biggest one. But I thought this over and decided to leave it alone anyway. --Steven Fisher (talk) 22:46, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Recent reevaluations?
editQuestion: has there been any contemporary reassesment of this movie in light of the events of the past decade? More than 10 years later, a movie about an african-american police officer harrassing an interracial couple seems extremely tonedeaf. 46.97.170.40 (talk) 13:48, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
