List to be merged
editThis list taken from the main page of basillicas still needs to be merged. --evrik 21:35, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- The merge is now complete, but it may be an idea to double-check each entry so we can keep track of "unofficial" basilicas. Xanthoxyl 08:40, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Translation
editThe article also needs to be translated into English. -- Necrothesp 23:24, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. it may be too much for me to do. --evrik 04:33, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
I am replacing "Basilica of..." with "Basilique" to bring it into conformity with the "Cathedrale" articles. Ideally we are supposed to translate names of things into English wherever possible, but given that people will be searching using the French names, and saints' names are not always easy to give in English, I think this is the easier option. Xanthoxyl 15:03, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
- Some basilicas are cathedrals which already have stub articles. If so, please change the main entry to read "Cathédrale..." rather than pipe. Xanthoxyl 08:40, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Translation (2)
editThe easier option is not always the best one, and certainly not here. "Basilique de" (and "Cathédrale de") are unnecessary, and inappropriate in an Eng lang context, and I have re-translated the lot, taking into account recent developments in naming practice of this sort of thing. Addition of links to regional geography
editI've just added links to the French Regional pages, which don't reflect the recent Administrative consolidation of Regions - your structure is unchanged. The link to Regions overview in the heading could be checked for onjectivity. An English reader is unlikely to be aware of that Administrative geography. Indeed, a map of the Basilicoi might be useful.
