editI do not think that it is very helpful to label the anabaptist "state of zion" as democratic. In fact it was a militant theocratic monarchy with Jan van Leyden as king. User: Klas Heising, 22 jun 2004
Those words stands in World War II section. Are some placed ,,*English* (*German*)´´-patterns really neccessarly to keep or a mix of tendency to hidden romantize the human rights violations the NSDAP did and sneaky trolling in this article or something else? I rarely see in Wikipedia non-german wars and strong life-quality-decreasing acts by other regimes such as the Second Indochina War. Wouldn´t this be at least subconsciously count as bias against the Neutral-Point-Of-View´´? It would be as argument save time by reading when we just delete the more obvious translations. The pronunciation file is not correct as it has a very strong accent. It doesn't sound like German at all, rather like people speaking Romanian languages would pronounce it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.176.232.29 (talk) 22:21, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
- Seconded. I'm a native speaker of German, and the pronuciation file sounds like "MYOONSTER" (as if pronounced in English), instead of "MÜNNSTA". 217.226.22.47 (talk) 18:57, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
Please introduce the Infobox German Location with image. It provides a coherent look among German cities. Lear 21 23:01, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
quote "a democratic proto-socialistic state"
editI don't know who wrote this as a description of The Anabaptists takeover but it is not correct. It has been likened to Maoism and Kampuchea by Diarmaid MacCulloch speaking on In Our Time BBC Radio 4, 29 October 2009. I think you should link to other documents available on Wikipedia regarding John of Leiden rather than minimising or, worse, idealising this period. 77.195.172.230 (talk) 21:50, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Man is this article small!!!!!!!!!!!!!
editI'll have to expand it. Editorofthewiki 02:57, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Münster vs. Munster
editCould someone please tell me how to delete the redirect from M_u_nster to M_ü_nster? There is a small city named Munster in Germany, right in the middle between Hamburg and Hannover; however, there'll be no way to get to this article as long as the redirect is in existance. Naming of Churches
editIn the article and in the picture above section World War II there are different kind of naming schemas for German Church names:
german name -- article name --> possible correction
Lambertikirche -- St. Lambert's Church
Ludgerikirche -- Ludgerikirche --> St. Ludger's Church
Überwasserkirche -- Überwasserkirche --> Überwasser-Church (??) (Über ~ above, wasser ~ water) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.225.207.203 (talk) 18:54, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
glaub die Heisst Liebfrauen Überwasserkirche oder so ähnlich.

editWouldn't it be nice to mention the local Low Saxon language spoken in Münster? 213.148.243.41 (talk) 15:15, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
List of fines pertaining to cycling
editSurely not only Münster charges such fines but actually any city in Germany. I suggest to either take this list out (preferred) or clearly refer to it being general rules for Germany (but then we could list all kinds of other rules as well) Jaeljojo (talk) 07:51, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
It's in there because cycling is a notable hobbie of the residents of the city. Kingjeff (talk) 13:14, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
- Come on! And then people from Münster should look up in the English wikipedia in order to know fines? And should we also list the fines for speeding in Munich because people in Munich like to drive cars? Jaeljojo (talk) 13:32, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
Some vandalism is unfixed
editThe vandalism of 15:05, 14 January 2013 82.75.101.49 remains, in many places. It is a number of typos and hard-to-see changes. Someone should fix this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.79.237.13 (talk)
'Resented' barracks
edit... five large complexes of barracks are a still resented feature of the city.
Seventy years after the war they're still resented? To an outsider, this seems an odd statement, and it's not supported by anything else in the article. Wieso "resented"? Sounds POV. Sca (talk) 14:51, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
- Since no one offered an explanation, I deleted "resented." Sca (talk) 21:39, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
What is missing from the recently created city timeline article? Please add relevant content! Contributions welcome. Thank you. -- M2545 (talk) 16:20, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
Wilsberg
editWhat, no mention of Wilsberg? Sca (talk) 00:26, 21 May 2016 (UTC)
Münster meaning
editDoes Münster mean "near the Monastery or near the Monasteries"? Is this similar to Münich "by the Monks" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.76.124.188 (talk) 06:08, 22 October 2017 (UTC)

Münster dialect / Indogermanic language
editI believe that at least one person below has made a passing reference to the local dialect here, but I would suggest that it benefit from expansion.
One point worth expanding, for example, is the term pani, used in the downtown Münster dialect (meaning water, or Wasser in standard German), which would seem to suggest a direct Hindi / Romani influence, since pani means water in Hindi [1] (as well as Nepali)... there are still many active military bases. The last forces left Münster on 4 July 2013."
