Fair use rationale for Image:Mkstalin.jpg
editImage:Mkstalin.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Dear Sir
I thank you very much for your efforts in the governance and especially in the projects related to Chennai metro.
Infact, I have been thanking you since 1995+ , as the rains had lashed our area. You visited the place then and your immediate actions on the problems of the public were really adorale and I still admire your handling the situation at that time.
You were mentioning about a pond - whether it is natural or manmade. You were referring about the water lagging at this place.
I reside in Virugambakkam, Vembuliamman Koil Street. The superflous water in the double lakes or in Porur lakes overflow to a pond here near our street. And to our benefit, the stagnant water maintains the level of water table in this area.
I dont know what is happeining around. But the people around spread rumours that there is a proposal of large number of apartments, after filling the pond.
Your efforts on saving the parks and beautifying the city are great. And I would request you to look into this matter of water also please.
Thanks and best regards

Controversies section and BLP
editAdministrator note It is important for editors to review our Biographies of living persons policy closely before adding to the section. What was there was simply not up to par. (Special thanks goes to Drmies for doing most of the heavy lifting.) El_C 03:49, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
Other controversies
editA news article relating to M K Stalin that ended up being a controversy was listed in the Controversies section of the article. The edit was reverted without providing any justification. The edit was only an inclusion of an event that happened with citations. Hence, the revert has been removed. If the inclusion is wrong, may I request a Dispute Resolution Notice action ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nithya (talk • contribs) 14:42, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
- Please stop adding social media gossip to BLP articles, this is not a newspaper or your personal blog. I would suggest closely reading WP:ONUS and not edit warring over it. Tayi Arajakate Talk 14:50, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
- Nithya,
- If you are requesting to take this to WP:DRN, it will be denied as no sufficient arguments have been provided.
- I am not going to search through diffs for the source you are claiming to be disputed. Please provide one.
- On first look, I have to lean towards User:Tayi Arajakate.
- Ping me with diff once provided. Heart (talk) 15:38, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
Here is the diff of my edit
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=M._K._Stalin&diff=prev&oldid=1014849271
My edit was about an event that happened and a controversy created by M. K. Stalin. The happening of the event was factual and has been cited by news media outlets and not by gossip organisations. There is nothing wrong in including this news item about the person as it is neither fictional nor a lie. My edit was neither abusive against the person or the person who reverted. it is merely an inclusion of a controversy created by this person that I cited including url links.
Nithya (talk) 16:18, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
- The citation itself states that "DMK President MK Stalin criticised Vedic ceremonies conducted in Hindu marriages" whereas your addition stated that "Stalin created a controversy by abusing marriage practices of the Hindu religion" which is a misrepresentation.
- More importantly, trivialities such as social media gossip, do not merit inclusion in BLP articles regardless of whether an outlet publishes an article on it, as I have already said this is an encyclopedia not a newspaper or a blog. If you bothered to read the policy on onus that I linked above, you would find that it states "verifiability does not guarantee inclusion". Tayi Arajakate Talk 17:07, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
How is this classified as a social media gossip ? Is this a facebook article or someone's twitter feed or blog post ? It is a news article from an established media outlet that is not blacklisted by Wikimedia. Does Wikipedia proscribe rules that permit or forbid inclusion of such articles ? or is it the whims and fancies of certain individuals that decide why this article should not be included? If the exact wordings of this news article were to be included then does it permit the inclusion of this edit? The rules framed are being interpreted to suit individual conveniences. Anyway, I shall wait for the Third Opinion to be resolved.
Please refer to the following article as a reference. Another living person. How is the following permitted ? Is it permitted against Prime Minister Johnson's encyclopedia article by the same explanation ? There has to be uniformity of rules and not inconsistent behavior because of someone's personal likes and dislikes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boris_Johnson#Allegations_of_racism_and_Islamophobia
And here is an article where there is even a Controversies section. Why should this be permitted by the same account ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._Jayalalithaa#Controversies
How is this permitted against another living person if Wiki was only an encyclopedia ? And not someone's newspaper or blog. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smriti_Irani#Controversies
Nithya (talk) 00:33, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
3O Response: The proposed edit stated that the individual was "abusing" various practices. That is an insertion of editorial opinion that this individual did something wrong and is absolutely unacceptable in a BLP. Since the edit violates BLP, it must not be reinstated. Seraphimblade Talk to me 05:00, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
The news article is about a outrage on social media over a 2 year old video that is abruptly cut at one minute and forty seconds. Other articles having controversy sections doesn't mean that anything and everything that crops up on the news can be added in it. If you have problems with what's written in other BLPs, you should take it to the talk pages of those articles. Tayi Arajakate Talk 09:15, 30 March 2021 (UTC)

Removal of sourced content
edit@AlphaBetaGamma, DaxServer, and Arjayay: Grabup has removed sourced content with his last edit. I don't understand why. If you feel that it needs to be re-inserted, please do. I don't want to get into any edit war. Some paragraphs seem like an advertisement and you may want to remove them.-Biddaki (talk) 03:35, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
- The content was removed citing WP:CRITS. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 03:55, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Biddaki: As per WP:CRITS, ‘The article structure must protect neutrality. Sections within an article dedicated to negative criticisms are normally also discouraged.’ Your addition is totally against WP:NPOV as it only shows the negative aspect in that particular section. GrabUp - Talk 03:58, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
- One of you can add it in a neutral way. I give up. Please see the sections and sub-sections titled, DMK Youth Wing, Electoral performance, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister's Dashboard, Awards and accolades - they seem like advertisements.-Biddaki (talk) 04:09, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
- @AlphaBetaGamma, DaxServer, Arjayay, and Grabup: can one of you tweak that sentence and add it back so that no rules are broken?-Biddaki (talk) 13:42, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
