Movie palace vs. picture palace
editWeb searches turn up numerous references to both terms in both the US and UK, so I've revised the introduction to reflect this.-choster (talk) 23:20, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Movie theatres in the U.S. on the NRHP
editMany of the hundreds of U.S. NRHP-listed theatres may be movie palaces of the type described in this article. I've just used an automated tool to provide a list of all NRHP places with "theatre" or "theater" in their name, at Wikipedia:WikiProject National Register of Historic Places/Theatres. This list may not link properly to some existing wikipedia articles on places that it covers, but it provides a good start. doncram (talk) 16:28, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Background History
editIt is impossible to understand the Movie Palace, without a clear understanding of the theatres that led to their development. I've added a section to do so, along with citations, which this article is seriously lacking. Atmospheric theatre (talk) 16:27, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
Movie Palace List
editIs the list intended to only reflect movie palaces that are still open? Or are demolished ones allowed? Should we start a new list for demolished movie palaces? - Kzirkel (talk) 14:26, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
- It looks like some are still open, some have been repurposed, and some have been demolished. It would definitely be better to diferentiate the list by current status. ... I think separate lists would be preferable to a table. 8bitW (talk) 00:15, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
